south east melbourne phoenix vs. sydney kings
february 10th 7:30pm
South East Melbourne will attempt to wrestle its way back to top spot on the NBL table when it faces the Sydney Kings on Thursday nigh at John Cain Arena.
It has been a strong start to the season for the Phoenix with a 7-3 record locked away after hanging on for a one-point victory over Illawarra on Monday night.
The Kings, meanwhile, have had an inconsistent set of results through 13 fixtures having gone 6-7 overall.
The visitors do bring in winning form to this contest after accounting for the struggling New Zealand Breakers without really raising too much of a sweat.
It is interesting to see the market really siding with the home team in this game given the Kings have already toppled them this season.
Sydney recorded a 84-73 win back against the Phoenix back in December last year.
There is no doubting South East Melbourne is in much better form at the moment, but the gap in the market between the two teams seems a little bit overstated.
Backing the visitors against the spread at a good price.
Suggested Bets: Sydney Kings +3.5 at $1.95
brisbane bullets vs. adelaide 36ers
february 11th 7:30pm
Two teams down the bottom of the NBL will attempt to climb their way back up when the Brisbane Bullets and Adelaide 36ers vie for victory on Friday night.
Sitting at 4-6, the 36ers have had an up and down start to life without star guard Josh Giddey, while the Bullets struggle to mount up winning consistency after a loss to Cairns last Saturday.
The Bullets have looked vulnerable in defence in their last two outings and it may just pave the way for a 36ers to fire with their scoring after a big 88-83 win over Melbourne United in overtime on January 30.
While Brisbane is slightly fancied at the head to head being the home team, the 36ers can cover the spread especially with the form of big men Daniel Johnson and Cameron Bairstow.
Suggested Bets: Adelaide 36ers +3.5 at $1.96
illawarra hawks vs. cairns taipans
february 12th 5:30pm
It’s a mid-table battle when the fifth place Illawarra Hawks meet the seventh place Cairns Taipans at Win Sports and Entertainment Centres.
The Hawks have tumbled down the table having lost three of their last four, which includes a current two-game slide after being humbled by New Zealand and narrowly defeated by South East Melbourne Phoenix.
Since its 100-89 win over Adelaide, the Hawks have either struggled to maintain a good flow in offence or it has been a struggle to lockdown opposition when defending.
It is not exactly the form to bring into this game, but the Hawks do boast a big 94-75 win over the Taipans back on January 29.
Tyler Harvey and Justinian Jessup caused all sorts of havoc for the Taipans defence when they travelled up to Cairns and a return home for this reverse fixture could spell trouble for the visitors.
Suggested Bets: Illawarra Hawks -4.5 at $1.84
melbourne united vs. perth wildcats
february 12th 8:00pm
A top-of-the-table blockbuster is set to ensue at John Cain Arena on Saturday night when Melbourne United does battle with Perth Wildcats.
Not since last season’s grand final series have we seen these two teams come up against each other and it will be the Wildcats who seek revenge.
Let us not forget the Wildcats were without veteran guard Bryce Cotton for the grand final series, but he will be roaring and ready to go for this fixture.
United, who have been in a solid form this season, are still yet to consistently replicate the championship winning form they showed last season.
Perth comes into this contest with 101-79 rout of Sydney next to its name, which really sent a big warning signal to the league that the Wildcats are not to be messed with.
The Wildcats represent great value at the head to head and will give this game an almighty shake.
Suggested Bets: Perth Wildcats head to head at $2.07
