Nine races on the program and nine races to go through as the BetDeluxe crew of racing gurus wipes the sweat off their foreheads.
There is a horse we are specking at massive each-way odds in the last race, while the best of the day comes up in race seven as we look ahead to the running of the Chairmans Stakes and the Manfred Stakes.
caulfield race 1
#4 minouche
Minouche was very heavily tried in the betting at Caulfield last start, but just found the 1100 metres a little too sharp.
She did find the line nicely late in the race, which suggests a rise to 1400 metres will be up her alley.
Damien Oliver should be able to camp in a spot closer to the leaders than last start.
Suggested Bet: Minouche win at $3.1
caulfield race 2
#11 worthily
Raced over a distance well short of his best at Flemington.
Got back to near last and was running on well enough to suggest he can make a quantum leap on his current Australian rating.
Getting up to 1800 metres will suit him and he should derive plenty of fitness from the run.
Jye Mcneil has been booked and that is a good lead.
Suggested Bet: Worthily win $2.40
caulfield race 3
#5 midas prince
Should enjoy the ideal trailing run in behind Dirty Deeds, Kings Full and Look Closely.
Drop down in weight for him is good despite rising in class.
Goes down from 61kgs to 57kgs and draws a very nice barrier.
Suggested Bet: Midas Prince each-way at $11 the win and $3.10 the place.
caulfield race 4
#4 renosu
Renosu looks to have come back a more well-rounded two-year-old colt since having a spell from his two-run campaign in the spring.
The Godolphin colt was well within himself in a recent Flemington jump out and showed nice strength and professionalism to win his most recent effort over 800 metres.
This race should be the one he shows us what he is made of.
Suggested Bet: Renosu win at $2.50
caulfield race 5
#5 marine one
Paulele will likely be scratched and that opens the race up for Marine One.
He maps to lead the race from his stablemate Generation and that should prove the big advantage.
He is fit, firing and ready to win again.
Suggested Bet: Marine One each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
caulfield race 6
#8 groovy kinda love
Has had nine weeks off since her runner-up effort behind Under My Spell at Pakenham.
Not too perturbed about the break between runs given she has produced a very nice piece of work over a 1000-metre jump out at Cranbourne.
Craig Williams booked and we are confident she is the one to beat.
Suggested Bet: Groovy Kinda Love win at $4.8
caulfield race 7
#10 desert icon
Avoiding all the Melbourne form here and siding with Desert Icon.
Comes down from Sydney after being pipped on the line by his odds-on stablemate over 2000 metres.
He gets right down in the weights, which is a big green light for backing Chris Waller horses.
Suggested Bet: Desert Icon win at $3.10
caulfield race 8
#12 capriccio
Huge jockey change with Harry Coffey coming off and Damien Oliver going on.
This mare has fitness on her side and drops in grade.
Middle pin looks ideal given there is a fair bit of early speed in this race and Oliver should be able to ascertain a midfield spot in the run to use her sprint late in the race.
Suggested Bet: Capriccio win at $4.80
caulfield race 9
#5 maserartie bay
The synthetic hoof filler comes off for the first time.
It is a sign that the Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace stable have eradicated any issues with mare’s hoofs and she can run up to her best here.
She very nearly won first-up over the mile in an harder BM-84 race last preparation and she comes up huge odds in a lower-class event at BM-78 level.
Suggested Bet: Maserartie Bay each-way at $31 the win and $6 the place.
