adelaide united vs. sydney fc

february 4th 7:45pm

A Friday night blockbuster is on the cards when Adelaide United prepare to host long-time A-League rival Sydney FC.

The Reds have gone undefeated in their last four A-League fixtures and bring a two-game winning run into this match, while the Sky Blues salvaged three points with a late 3-2 win over Central Coast.

Adelaide seems to have really hit its straps and is playing attractive football at the minute.

Sitting in third place on the table is probably not a true reflection of where they sit in the scheme of things given they have played more games than most, but winning form is good form.

Sydney FC has been wildly inconsistent this season and we got a great chasm into their yo-yo tendencies last Sunday after they went down 2-1, but before Bobo and Anthony Caceras saved the day.

Get the feeling both teams are going to put the clamps on each other despite boasting very potent options in attack.

Too hard to pick a head to head result, so we will take this game going under 2.5 goals into a result either way even though our prediction goes the way of Adelaide.

Prediction: Adelaide FC 1 Sydney FC 0

Suggested bets: Adelaide FC or Sydney FC head to head/ total goals under 2.5 at $2.55

western sydney wanderers vs. western united fc

february 5th 5:05pm

Western Sydney will attempt to turn its season around when it faces Western United FC at at Commbank Stadium come Saturday night.

After appointing Mark Rudan as new head coach, the Wanderers responded in the best possible fashion with a 1-0 win over Perth Glory last weekend.

The triumph put some gloss on what had been turning into a horrible start to the season, but now Rudan must focus his attention to a much tougher task; negating Western United.

John Aloisi has turned the black and green army into a force this season as they atop of the A-League table coming into this weekend’s fixtures.

A 1-0 win over City marked their second victory over their cross-town rivals this season and it was followed up by a gruelling 2-2 draw with Macarthur FC.

It was a patch of games Aloisi would have been happy to take four points from and now he can set up his team for a crack at Wanderers outfit that have shown their frailties.

Prediction: Western Sydney Wanderers 1 Western United 3

Suggested bets: Western United head to head at $3.20

wellington phoenix vs. macarthur fc

february 6th 4:05pm

Macarthur FC is on the road to Wellington’s home away from home at Campbelltown Sports Stadium when it sets its formation for a clash against the Phoenix.

In what is technically a home-game for the Phoenix, they will have no home-ground advantage given this stadium is the true home of Macarthur.

The Bulls can take a step closer towards top spot in the league with a handful of fixtures up their sleeve on most opponents.

Ante Milicic has his men playing an exciting brand of football at the moment which is a far cry from what the Phoenix have dished up so far this season.

Wellington has conceded the most amount of goals despite only playing seven games and a shaky defence against a team like the Bulls will only spell trouble.

With Lachlan Rose in goal-scoring form for the Bulls, it seems a fait accompli in favour of the ‘visitors.’

Prediction: Macarthur 2 Wellington 0

Suggested bets: Macarthur FC head to head at $2.40

melbourne city vs. perth glory

february 6th 6:45pm

The pressure is mounting and the grip on the trophy is slipping as reigning A-League champion Melbourne City heads into its battle with Perth Glory on Sunday evening at AAMI Park.

City have looked nothing like the championship-winning team of 2020/21 and did their title defence no favours by falling 1-0 to Western United for the second time this season in the lead up to this match.

But if there was a fixture they were hoping to get after a loss, it would be against a Perth Glory team that is really struggling to find their mojo.

The Glory were left squandering in 11th place after a 1-0 loss to Western Sydney and their memories of the early fixture against City this season would not be fond.

City has already tallied up win over Perth thanks to an 88th minute strike from Nathan Atkinson back on December 8 last year.

Expecting a similar result to the occur here.

Prediction: Melbourne City 2 Perth Glory 1

Suggested bets:
Melbourne City head to head at $1.45
Melbourne City to score in both halves at $1.80
