Thursday night equals greyhound racing at Sandown Park.

The BetDeluxe greyhound team is all hands on deck to find the best bets and tips ahead of the 12-race program.

sandown park race 1

#1 Aston Wonder

Aston Wonder brings the Targod Shriley form line into this race, which is what looks to be the superior form in this event.

Out of all the dogs to come out of that form reference, she is the one to have started the shortest price.

The Liam Sharp-trained chaser fought valiantly from a poor draw and could only manage fifth out of the six runners.

This time, she draws the gun box down in the cherry and can easily make up for that last-start defeat.

She just needs to jump cleanly from the inside and get some clear running in the middle stages to use her mid-race sprint to full effect.

Tough to beat.

Suggested Bet: Aston Wonder win at $2.5

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 2

sandown park race 2

#3 plagiarise

Plagiarise looks to have found a race where she can find that elusive second career victory.

She has only won one race from her eight career starts, but has been acquitting herself well at Sandown and he last start effort was a solid second behind smart chaser Soda Success.

She might be able to find the front here with the dogs drawn inside and outside of her not exactly possessing the greatest early speed.

She is rock-hard fit and accustom to running at these distances.

It is interesting to see her come up longer odds than Rohan Bale who she started shorter than and beat home last start.

Expect there to be very solid support for her.

Suggested Bet: Plagiarise win at $3.6

Sandown park race 6

#5 Golden quest

We are on the quest for gold with Golden Quest in race six on the card.

This is a bit of step up in grade from Benjamin Magri-trained two-year-old chaser, but we feel she is capable of running a bold each-way race.

She is a seriously quick beginner when she steps away and has her mind on the job as we saw with her most recent three-race winning streak.

Last start she dwelt at the start and was never a winning hope.

More than happy to forgive for that run and give her another chance here.

The early money for her suggests that Magri has ironed any issues that caused her to not jump cleanly last start.

Suggested Bet: Golden Quest each-way at $8 the win and $1.85 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 5, 7

Sandown park race 10

#1 Icarus Bale

Icarus Bale has drifted out to a very juicy price.

Mark Delbridge prepares this two-year-old chaser for only his second run at this particular distance range.

He raced in a G5 event at Ballarat last start, but it clearly looked to be a race that was a fitness builder for this.

What sets up nicely for him here is the inside draw and going up in distance.

It means he should be able to find the lead early in the race and prove very hard to catch.

Surprised he is no longer favourite, but suspect that will change come closer to the jump.

Suggested Bet: Icarus Bale win at $3.6

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 1 & 2
