Rosehill Tips & Previews, Saturday 29th January

A huge card is upon us for racing at Rosehill as we welcome back star colt Anamoe to the racing scene, but our crew has found better value around the program.

Anamoe makes his return to the race track in his final season as a three-year-old colt as we get set for a big card worth 10 races at Rosehill.

There does, however, look to be better value on the card outside of the Godolphin colt with the best of the day coming up in race eight.

Rosehill race 3

#1 ebhaar

Ebhaar showed great tenacity and a will to win on her debut run when staving off all challengers to win at Caulfield over 1000 metres.

She has since had a break between that run on November 27 last year till now and has also had 792-metre trial at Warwick Farm to get her ready.

Sam Clipperton has been booked and will find himself in a lovely position in running from barrier five.

A professional as a two-year-old filly as they come from what we have seen at the races, trials and jump outs to date.

Suggested Bet: Ebhaar win at $2.80

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 4

rosehill race 6

#1 so wicked

Had to deal with recovering from a horrible run two starts ago when she raced last start at Randwick and attempted to lead the field all the way in tougher grade.

She drops down in distance after that tenacious on-speed effort which saw her run forth.

The 2kgs off her back thanks to the claim will ply enhance her changes.

Looks to get control of the speed again in this race and will prove hard to run down now that she is back in form.

Suggested Bet: So Wicked each-way at $7 the win and $2.4 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta 1, 2, 5, 7

rosehill race 7

#6 anamoe

The return of Australia’s best colt and arguably best horse.

Anamoe resumes with a first-up run in the Expressway Stakes over 1200 metres, which looks an ideal starting point for a campaign that is sure to bring him more Group 1 success.

James Cummings gave punters a bit of a warning with this star galloper by suggesting he would not be fully wound up for this race.

That is understandable given he is a much better horse over 1400 metres and beyond, and he will have a handful of target races he is set to peak in.

However, he draws a very easy barrier for his resuming run and can easily out sprint this lot with a devastating change of gears.

The only knock on him is the odds we are getting in a race he clearly will not be revved up for.

Might pay to take an exotic with Tiger of Malay who has trialled up okay as well as race-fit horse Standout.

Suggested Bet: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 6, 7

rosehill race 8

#4 yiyi

This gelding has a clear liking for Rosehill having won twice at three attempts.

He put the writing on the wall saying ‘back me next start’ with his first-up performance at Randwick a fortnight ago.

That particular 1400-metre effort saw him attack the line nicely behind Kingsheir

He now has a slight pull in the weights over Kingsheir which will help his winning hopes.

Jason Collett has also been hauled off for superstar jockey James McDonald.

Making this galloper the best bet on the program

Suggested Bet: Yiyi win at $3.1

rosehill race 10

#14 narvaez

Returned in fine style when defying his odds in the market at Flemington to run third as a $61 pop at BM-70 level.

He has to make a sharp rise in grade for this race but that is offset by tumbling down in the weights to carry 56kgs.

That is a big relief after having to lug around 60kgs upon resuming.

He will be much fitter for having that run under his belt and maps to lead and control this race.

The one to get through.

Suggested Bet: Narvaez win at $3.4

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 14 & 6, 8
