A-League Tips and Previews, Saturday 15th January

BetDeluxe goes through all the A-League bets and tips to be with come this weekend's round of football.

There might only be three fixtures this weekend in the A-League, but it is reason to get excited none the less.

The best bets from BetDeluxe get underway with the F3 Derby between Central Coast and Newcastle.

central coast mariners vs. newcastle jets

january 15th 5:05pm

The F3 Derby gets set for another edition when Central Coast Mariners host the Newcastle Jets on Saturday in the A-League.

The Mariners are coming into this game with a rich vein of form having won their last three fixtures in all competitons, but have not played since December 21st.

Newcastle, meanwhile, has had a similar gap between matches after their 2-1 loss against Macarthur back on December 18.

Clearly the home team has the better form and body of work through the first few fixtures of the season.

But as we know with the F3 Derby… anything can happen!

Arthur Pappas has the Jets playing much more competitive than they were last season and that has to count for something here.

Prediction: Central Coast 2 Newcastle 2

Suggested bets: Draw at $3.4

adelaide united vs. melbourne city

january 15th 7:45pm

Adelaide United and Melbourne City will trade blows when the pair face off at Coopers Stadium on Saturday night.

City is coming off an enthralling 3-3 draw against Western Sydney Wanderers, while Adelaide returns home after having to settle for a 1-1 parity against long-time rival Melbourne Victory.

Both teams are coming off brutal encounters, but it is City which is favoured to the job done as the $1.75 favourite.

It is understandable there is such a gap in the market between the teams given the talent Patrick Kisnorbo can choose from.

With Jamie Maclaren in a purple patch of goal-scoring form, expect City to bounce back with a win here.

Prediction: Adelaide United 1 Melbourne City 2

Suggested bets:
Melbourne City head to head at $1.75
J. Maclaren anytime goalscorer

sydney fc vs. brisbane roar

january 15th 7:45pm

Brisbane Roar is still on the hunt for its first win of the A-League season when it meets Sydney FC at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night.

Having only played four games so far due to fixtures interruptions, the Roar are yet to register win and sit last on the table with a draw being their only salvaged point.

The Sky Blues, meanwhile, have strung together two League wins in a row and progressed through the next phase of the FFA Cup after defeating the Roar on Wednesday night.

Brisbane looked as though it needed that midweek hit out to get back up to match fitness given it had not played a competitive match since December 15.

The Roar should be better for that run and can pinch a result here.

Prediction: Sydney FC 2 Brisbane Roar 2

Suggested bet: Draw head to head at $4.15
