It would not be a Thursday night without greyhound racing from Sandown Park.
The BetDeluxe crew has gone through the best bets and tips on the 12-race card to find you all the value.
sandown park race 1
#4 Blue Tiger
Having a good whack at Blue Tiger.
He is the likely leader in this race and that will prove as a massive tactical advantage.
This is arguably one of the easier races he has contested in the last few starts having competed in G4/G5 and G3/G4 grade.
He has a solid record at the track and his win here only five starts ago, if replicated here, would win this race comfortably.
Suggested Bet: Blue Tiger win at $2.90
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 4
sandown park race 3
#1 riccarton rick
Riccarton Rick is a Sandown specialist who does his best racing at this track.
The three-year-old chaser out of the Robert Redenbach kennels should enjoy the perfect run through box one in this event.
His form last start was a solid runner-up placing in a Heat event at Warragul.
Coming back to Sandown bodes well for him with a record of nine wins from his 32 stars at the course.
In a small field, he should be able to jump on terms, settle in a handy spot and then chase whoever he needs to into the back straight.
Suggested Bet: Riccarton Rick win at $2.90
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1/ 7/ 8
Sandown park race 6
#8 Fabrioni Bale
Fabrioni Bale finally gets a race shape that should set up nicely for him.
The two-year-old dog trained by Mark Delbridge has been drawn terribly at his last few starts and has struck trouble.
Being drawn out a little wider looks an ideal scenario for this chaser and he can use the wider part of Sandown to wind up with his run.
Love the fact he gets up in distance as well given how strongly he has run on late in his most recent racing efforts.
Suggested Bet: Fabrioni Bale each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.2 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 4, 8
Sandown park race 8
#6 invictus rising
Invictus Rising is going to be our best of the night.
Put a pen through his last run at Warragul, which was clearly a race to get his legs ready for this 600-metre event.
He ran on really well at Warragul considering how far back he got and he now returns to a track and distance in which he has had great success.
He started a $2 favourite only two starts ago in a very similar race where he was a shade unlucky not to win.
Now are getting close to $3 in a race that looks of a very similar quality, but he gets a better set up and with a clear run he will blitz this lot.
Suggested Bet: Invictus Rising win at $2.90
