Pakenham Tips & Previews, Thursday 13th January

Thursday night racing returns at Pakenham with an eight-race program full of best bets and tips from the BetDeluxe thoroughbred racing team.

Thursday night racing returns to Pakenham for an eight-race meeting on a very competitive card.

The best bets on the program come quite early with a first starter in race one catching the eye and another in race two.

pakenham race 1

#5 Madame du gast

Madam Du Gast has put together two very slick jump outs in preparation for her debut run over 1200 metres.

She has showed great closing speed late in both her jump outs to suggest the 1200 metres is not going prove any problems for her.

Her professionalism and ability to settle down in the run under a hold is a big green tick for a horse that is yet to race.

Really like the middle barrier for her as she can take her time to wind up and hit the home straight with full momentum.

Expecting there to be a strong push for her in the market.

Suggested Bet: Madame Du Gast win at $4

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 5 & 10

pakenham race 2

#4 beau night

It was a split in two when doing the form for this race, but we are going to circle Beau Night as the bet.

He travelled super in his 1000-metre jump out win and won with plenty in the tank.

Has since been gelded after his first preparation and looks to have come back a horse that is panels better than maiden grade.

He should have a very solid fitness base given the distance his jump outs were run over.

Draws a very soft barrier and Craig Newitt will ensure he is up on the speed.

Suggested Bet: Beau Night win at $4

pakenham race 4

#11 tagomago

Raced as though she was searching for more distance last start.

The three-year-old filly was involved in a fairly brutally run maiden race over 1400 metres at Cranbourne and wobbled around the tight-turning corner into the home straight.

Once she flattened out, she was coming at the line nicely to suggest the rise to 1600 metres is going to suit her.

Should get a lovely run camped on the speed and should be, if the speed map is anything to go by, in front of the favourite by at least 4-6 lengths coming into the home straight.

Suggested Bet: Tagomago each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.5 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 9, 11/ 7, 9, 11/ 5, 7, 9, 11

pakenham Race 8

#2 helavabel

Has only had one start at Pakenham and it was a winning run.

That gives us plenty of confidence he can handle the confines of the track well and he does come out of a fairly solid BM-64 grade race.

He run well behind the likes of Galactic Fury and, in particular, Via Capo, who was well backed at the Caulfield midweek meeting.

There is clearly some substance to the form line given the market support for Via Capo at Caulfield.

Damian Lane being booked only adds to our bullish nature.

Suggested Bet: Helevabel win at $2.7
