Caulfield Tips & Previews, Sunday 26th December

Merry Christmas to all the punters out there and what better way to celebrate than a big set of best bets at Caulfield on Boxing Day.

Giddy up, punters!

Christmas is here and Boxing Day racing greets us from Caulfield for the annual Christmas Stakes meeting.

Nine races are on the card as the BetDeluxe team prepares four of the very best bets to be on come raceday.

Caulfield Race 2

#5 jacquinot

Jacquinot has jumped out in slick fashion ahead of his debut run at Caulfield.

He seems to have thrown heavily towards his sire Rubick, who was a very fast stakes-performed galloper.

You would have to look far and wide to find a more impressive trial for a Victorian two-year-old colt to date so far.

He has a beautiful action for a juvenile horse and has a great head carriage.

Love how he settled under the bridle and he looks to be a real press-button type of horse who will explode when the jockey releases the reins on race day.

Doubt barrier 13 will pose too many risks given the great speed he showed, so Luke Currie can ping him to the lead and burn them off.

Suggested Bet: Jacquinot win at $3.3

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 5 & 8

caulfield race 3

#11 swerving

Swerving debuted in style when winning by half-a-length as a very heavily backed favourite in her maiden race.

Leon & Troy Corstens have clearly got this filly racing in great order and she makes the step up to BM-70 grade in town, which is well deserved after he gritty win.

The big sign here is that Damien Oliver stays aboard after riding her on debut, so she must have shown great progression and improvement since her win at Geelong.

Barrier eight is a peach barrier for her as she can settle midfield, one off the fence and produce her win without being hampered.

Happy to play her each-way at the current price.

Suggested Bet: Swerving each-way at $9 the win and $3 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 6, 7, 9, 11

caulfield race 6

#4 Daqiansweet Junior

Daqiansweet Junior is absolutely airbourne at the moment and gets his chance to make his presence felt in higher grade at Caulfield.

Phillip Stokes has set him perfectly to progress through the grades.

The four-year-old gelding has gone from BM-64 grade to BM-70 grade and now he tumbles down in the weights making the rise to BM-80 level.

Huge jockey booking with Damian Lane taking the ride from barrier nine and he will give this horse every chance to run to his best.

Has the fitness platform to outdo his more fancied stablemate who is yet to run at the distance.

Suggested Bet: Daqiansweet Junior win at $4.8

Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 4, 5, 11, 13

caulfield race 7

#6 starelle

She is starting to become a bit of a nightmare for punters to follow, but Starelle finds a very winnable race to breakthrough for that elusive second career victory.

Jamie Kah might just prove the difference on this horse with Craig Williams coming off for the star Victorian jockey.

She was beaten home by Bonvicini last start, but started a much shorter than price in that race than the current favourite and that has to be factored in.

Middle barrier is ideal, she’ll be settled somewhere near the speed and hopefully get some cover into the back straight up the hill.

Making her the best of the day.

Suggested Bet: Starelle win at $4.2
