Sandown Tips & Previews, Wednesday 22nd December

Twilight racing continues in Victoria as the BetDeluxe thoroughbred form analysts go through the best on the eight-race card from Sandown.

Twilight racing is at the ready as we head to Sandown for an eight-race card on Wednesday.

The racing aficionados at BetDeluxe have gone through all the races and found the best bets on what is a competitive day of summer thoroughbred action.

Sandown Race 2

#12 Shalily

Shalily looks the each-way play in race two after a solid enough debut at Werribee over 1100 metres.

The three-year-old filly hit the line nicely at her first start and will surely gain a nice fitness elevation for that effort, which will render her a top three chance in this event.

Jamie Kah has been booked – a sign of clear intent from the Danny O’Brien stable that this horse is ready to win.

Barrier three, with a fair bit of speed drawn her outside, means she can amble up from the gates and take up the ideal stalking role in behind the leaders.

Expect her to be in the finish here and we can back her for a place to get a collect as well.

Suggested Bet: Shalily each-way at $7 the win and $2.4 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 9, 10, 11, 12

sandown race 3

#6 seonee

Seonee looks a real improving type of filly every time she steps out to the races.

She finally broke through for a much deserved maiden victory when winning by a length over 1450 metres at Kyneton last start.

The step up to the mile in this race at Sandown looks as though it is only going to suit her even more given she was running away from her rivals late in the race at Kyneton.

Damien Thornton is arguably in the career best form at the moment and he gets to pilot this filly again after riding her to victory.

The task from barrier two should see him settle leaders back, one-off of the fence and be able to peel out when he needs to.

Making this three-year-old filly the best the of the day.

Suggested Bet: Seonee win at $3.2

sandown race 7

#14 Kanzai

Returned in great order when running sixth at Sandown last start after being snicked back to last from a wide barrier.

She was going through the line very nicely late in the race after having to check off heels and it should bring her on beautifully for this event.

This race looks to have bit of early speed involved in it and that should allow this five-year-old mare to find a spot with cover in the run.

She draws a much a better gate than she did first-up, which will allow to settle her closer in the run and use her finishing speed to much better effect.

Suggested Bet: Kanzai each-way at $8 the win and $2.7 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 13 & 14

sandown race 8

#3 Here To Shock

The market is going to tell us everything with Here To Shock.

He resumes off a lengthy spell and comes into the race with one 800-metre jump out under his belt, but he went like a rocket and ended up winning quite nicely.

The wide barrier is going to give jockey Josh Richards two options; he either strides to the front to the lead or he adopts negative tactics and goes back to last, which renders it almost impossible to win.

Going to chance the arm that the stable will instruct the apprentice to push forward and try to take the lead.

If they find the lead, then this horse is the clearly the one to beat.

Suggested Bet: Here To Shock win at $4.2

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3/ 1, 4, 11, 15/ 1, 4, 11, 15
