Terang Tips & Previews, Monday 20th December

Monday racing begins at Terang as the BetDeluxe racing team goes through the nine-race card for the best bets.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

As we head into Christmas week, the BetDeluxe team takes no rest in order to get ready for Monday racing from Terang.

Star jockey Linda Meech treks over to the course for one ride, while fit mare comes up as one of our best for the day.

Terang race 2

#14 kadena

Kadena has had plenty circumstances against her through her first three runs.

The three-year-old filly finally looks to get the best chance since her debut to run up to her best.

Last start she had to cut the breeze out in front at Warrnambool on a day where racing without cover was an absolute nightmare.

Coming back to the 1000 metres looks ideal for her with the speed she possesses likely to see her land in the lead on a track that can really favour on-pacers.

Tongue tie goes on to help with her breathing and we expect her to be winning this race easily.

Suggested Bet: Kadena win at $2.5

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 14 & 2

Terang race 4

#14 seacole

Linda Meech treks out to Terang for her only ride of the day on this three-year-old filly which looks set for victory.

She resumed at Moonee Valley over 1200 metres last start on a borderline soft/heavy track.

Clearly had a stack of elevation to come from that run and with Meech being booked you know the stable will instruct her to be very positive away from the barriers.

Would not be surprised to see the pair jump and win this lead from start to finish.

Racing on a drier track will only improve this horse’s chances given she raced well enough on bone-dry ground in her first preparation when she was still a very immature horse.

Suggested Bet: Seacole win at $2.40

terang race 7

#8 diamonds and rust

Gets the 61.5kgs allotted to her again, but that will be no problem given she has been super competitive with that weight in this grade her last two starts.

This race looks to get up well for her coming back to a much easier BM-58 race at country level.

The big tick for her here is mapping a few lengths ahead of her rivals as she usually jumps very cleanly from the barriers.

She has fitness on her side and should enjoy a nice run with some cover as jockey Joe Bowditch slides forward from the middle gate.

Would be a surprise to see her start anything longer than $4.

Suggested Bet: Diamonds and Rust win at $4

Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 3, 6, 7, 8

Terang race 8

#3 algiers

One of the more intriguing runners on the card would have to be Aligers.

The six-year-old gelding comes up huge odds, but has trialled and jumped out nicely heading into this first run for new trainer Jarrod Robinson.

The blinkers going on is a clear sign of intent this horse is well screwed down to run well upon resumption.

Should be able to camp in a trailing spot close enough in the run to be within striking distance on the home turn.

Hoping he can find enough late in the race to run a place at the very least.

Each-way all day.

Suggested Bet: Algiers each-way at $26 the win and $5.5 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 8
