Kyneton Tips & Previews, Thursday 16th December

We track closer to a big weekend of racing with gallops and best bets from the eight-race program at Kyneton.

Kyneton takes charge of Thursday racing as we trek towards another big weekend of thoroughbred action.

All the best bets are here in the comprehensive BetDeluxe preview.

Kyneton race 3

#11 War of Wisdom

Jody Thompson has definitely got her hands on a speedy filly from what we have seen at the trials and jump outs.

The three-year-old trotted in during her jump out win on November 22 and then followed that up with a super half-length victory at Tatura over 850 metres.

She draws a very simple barrier on debut which will allow her to stride out and find a spot in or near the lead.

Doubt we have actually seen what this filly is capable of yet and she could explode on debut when the pipes really get opened.

The long sweeping turn into the home straight will really favour her on-pace ability with it being tough for the back markers to make up significant ground.

Suggested Bet: War of Wisdom win at $3

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 9 & 11

kyneton race 4

#14 My Artemis

Another filly on the card who has shown nice ability at the jump outs is the Hayes galloper My Artemis.

She has been given time to get to the races and responded well to light riding at Flemington, then sped to the front and was never headed under a tight hold to win her Tatura trial by two lengths.

The front looks hers for the taking here from an inside barrier with this looking a fairly simple job for jockey Daniel Stackhouse.

He will just need to get her in clear air at the top straight to be very hard to beat here.

Suggested Bet: My Artemis win at $2.1

kyneton race 6

#4 fortune rose

Fortune Rose resumes in BM-58 grade and it looks wound up enough to give this a crack.

She flopped out of the gates in her trial at Camperdown leading into this race and was then asked to respond under riding in the last 300 metres.

She made up good ground from last after looping the field in a sign she has returned in good order.

Young apprentice Maddi Price claims 4kgs which means this mare now carries less weight than her BM-58 win at Hamilton back on June 1.

We are banking on an inexperienced jockey to guide us through, but the barrier and race set up should not pose too many issues for her.

She can settle the mare one off the fence in a midfield spot and peel out when she needs to.

Suggested Bet: Fortune Rose each-way at $5.5 the win and $2 the place

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 4, 9

kyneton race 8

#8 regal bellarina

Two big ticks for Regal Bellarina; the blinkers going on and the wide barrier.

She has drawn barrier one at her last two runs and has looked cramped for room at stages throughout those races.

She clearly is not the sit and sprint type of horse who can just turn it on with a click up of gears, so being out wide and building up her momentum is going to be crucial for her.

The 61kgs is of no concern here with the minimum weight being 60kgs in this event.

Think we can back her each-way here and get a collect even she runs a place.

Suggested Bet: Regal Bellarina each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.25 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 8 & 10
