Wyong Tips & Previews, Wednesday 15th December

Wyong hosts the Magic Millions 2YO Classic as the team at BetDeluxe goes through all the best bets and tips you need to be on during the seven-race program.

The lead-up to the Magic Millions event in mid-January is well and truly underway with the running of the Magic Million 2YO Classic at Wyong.

It’s a seven-race card today which features the best bets from BetDeluxe as we keep a keen on eye horses to follow throughout the summer.

Wyong Race 2

#1 Viren

Finds a very winnable race as he gets deeper into his preparation.

He has been running in city grade middle-distance races of late and has been putting in solid performances despite not being able to win.

Think the drop down in grade with the 2kg claiming apprentice is going to see him very hard to beat here.

Barrier one gives the Reece Jones the chance to be positive from the barrier and get this horse right near the leaders.

Will just need a bit of luck from the inside gate to be winning this race.

Suggested Bet: Viren win at $2.7

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 1 & 2

Wyong race 3

#5 Auzstar

Auzstar is ready to break his maiden status in a race that sets up very nicely for him.

The four-year-old gelding from the Chris Waller stable was expected to be the winner of his last start at Newcastle over 1400 metres when starting a $3.2 favourite, but it all went pear shaped.

Something clearly went amiss with the horse after being asked to lead and then pulling up severely in the straight to run near last.

Paying respect to the market that day and giving him another opportunity to prove himself a winning horse in this event.

Expect Tommy Berry to ride this galloper a little bit more conservatively so that he has a sprint at the end of the race.

Suggested Bet: Auzstar win at $3

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 5 & 3

Wyong race 6

#1 Command Approved

We can back Command Approved with plenty of confidence here after a very nice debut at Canberra over 1000 metres.

The two-year-old colt by gun sprinter Sprit of Boom showed great pace and strength to lead from start to finish on a heavy nine surface.

This race looks his for the taking with a fitness advantage over a lot of this field who come to the races for the first time.

Wide barrier is no problem given he will bound straight towards the lead.

Positive jockey change with Tim Clark going on for Winona Costin only adds to the confidence of the bet.

Suggested Bet: Command Approved win at $3.7

wyong race 7

#9 Lashoni

An each-way bet to end the day on Lashoni.

The six-year-old mare gets the good track she is looking for after acquitting herself well on a soft seven at Wyong over 1100 metres in BM-64 grade last start.

Her record on the wet tracks is not as good as it is on dry tracks, so we have to be forgiving of her.

Interesting that the stable has opted for gun senior hoop Tim Clark to pilot this mare around the course.

He would not be taking the ride if she was not ready to win.

He will try tuck her up behind the leaders from barrier one and then peel out in the straight when the gaps appear.

Suggested Bet: Lashoni each-way at $9.5 the win and $2.7 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 4, 5, 9, 14
