We return to Moonee Valley for Friday night racing under the lights.
The best bets from the BetDeluxe team are in and there is plenty of value to be found as always.
Moonee valley race 2
#8 my delight
The price differential between My Delight and Perfect World looks too far apart.
My Delight has a good base of fitness to deal with what looks to be a fairly solidly run mile for this grade of race.
She ran okay behind Plucky Pirouette at Flemington on Oaks Day and one the mares out of that race in Ruru has since come out at Sandown on Wedneday and won.
Damien Oliver takes the ride on this mare and do not be surprised if we see her setting handy to the speed or even outside the lead.
Gaining unhindered momentum at Moonee Valley is a critical part to winning and the middle barrier should allow to find plenty of space in the run if Oliver is proactive, which we expect him to be.
Suggested Bet: My Delight win at $4.2
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 8
Moonee valley race 3
#12 salamanders
Damien Oliver is in the gun again here this time on Salamanders.
This three-year-old filly took until her fourth career start to bring up her maiden victory in what was a six-run campaign to begin her career.
She comes into this race having had a nice spell and time away to mature, grow and nurture into a nice three-year-old filly.
Her trial in Sydney looked very sound when running second over 803 metres.
She has shown the ability to lob in the lead, which Oliver just might very well chance his arm at doing her, but she also has the versatility to take the sit if it gets too hot up front.
We can back this filly each-way at the current price.
Suggested Bet: Salamanders each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 3, 4, 12
moonee valley race 4
#3 Gun Ablazing
Siding with Guns Ablazing who is building towards peak fitness.
He might just be a run short here, but his odds are too good to refuse especially on an each-way basis.
Big jockey change with Will Gordon coming off and gun hoop Jye Mcneil being assigned the ride, which signals intent from the stable.
The horse has a liking to the track as well with two starts yielding a win and a place.
He should be able to camp in the lead with the rise to 2500 metres and coming up against slower horses than he has faced at the shorter distances so far this preparation.
If McNeil can control the tempo up front and dictate the race, then the that lack of a final run to really bring this horse on might not be needed to win.
Suggested Bet: Guns Ablazing each-way at $8.5 the win and $2.5 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 3
Moonee valley race 5
#12 estoril park
She is starting to become a bit of a pest for the punters, however, Estoril Park looks to get the ideal race shape here.
Damien Oliver… again.
Yes it is that man who will pilot us again in race five as he looks to get that perfect trailing at Moonee Valley one pair behind the leaders.
There looks to be a fair bit of early speed in this race with Lunar Hero and Sweetzhou likely to bound towards the lead leaving Oliver to drop in and stalk them the whole way.
If he can pop off the fence or get the saloon passage through the inside without having to go around a horse, Oliver should be able to give Estoril Park that so far elusive second career victory.
Suggested Bet: Estoril Park each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
