Mornington Tips & Previews, Thursday 18th November

Thursday racing from Mornington as the BetDeluxe finds you the best bets and value ahead of the eight-race program.

Off to Mornington Racecourse we go for the best bets ahead of Thursday racing.

A resuming filly has caught the eye at the jump outs during race one, while an each-way betting opportunity arises later in the program during race seven.

Mornington race 1

#12 title shot

Jumped and travelled strongly in her only public jump out leading into her first-up run in her second campaign.

She has shown good speed and ability in her races to date and looks to have come on a few lengths since her first preparation.

Like that the stable has booked the senior jockey which signals intent.

Looks to either race in the lead or take the sit one-pair back and should be too quick for this field.

Suggested Bet: Title Shot win at $3.8

Mornington race 3

#14 the ballet dancer

The Hayes stable might just very well have its hands on a handy little filly here.

The Ballet Dancer has shown promise in her jump outs leading up to her debut race over 1200 metres.

She clearly has a good level of talent and travelled like a real professional at the jump outs, showing a good head carriage and not over doing it.

The stable has scratched her from a few runs already in order to find the perfect race and this looks the ideal scenario for her from a middle barrier on a track that favours on pacers.

Would be shocked to see her settle anywhere further back than the top four in the run.

Backing her strongly here.

Suggested Bet: The Ballet Dancer win at $4.8

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 10 & 14

mornington race 7

#13 shielded

Drops back to BM-64 grade after being thrashed in BM-70 company over 1200 metres at Sale.

Nothing went for him that day after missing the start and clearly not wanting to be at the races.

Have to respect his run at this track two starts after being wide and in the rear half of the field despite being extremely heavily backed.

The inside barrier will see him settle nice and handy to the speed.

Break between runs is no concern and should have the freshness back in his legs to sprint sharply in the latter stages.

Tough to see him missing a place.

Suggested Bet: Shielded each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.6 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 3, 11, 13

Mornington race 8

#4 rambeau

In what looks a tough way to end the day in a very even race, going to side with the horse who is likely to land in the lead and that is Rambeau.

Backing leaders down in a grade is often a solid recipe and he gets a nice 3kg-claim with Tianni Chapman taking the ride.

Will only have to carry 56kgs, which is a rise of a mere kilo from his last start effort in BM-70 grade at Moonee Valley.

The track will favour his leading style of racing and he should be able to give a good kick on the bend.

Hoping he pinches enough of a break to hold off the fast finishers down the outside.

Suggested Bet: Rambeau win at $4.8

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 4/ 1, 6, 12/ 1, 6, 12 ,14
