Geelong Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 18th November

Geelong takes over from Sandown as the main meeting for Thursday night greyhound racing as the BetDeluxe crew go through the best bets.

Geelong Greyhound Racing Club hosts Thursday night greyhound racing.

The BetDeluxe team has gone through all the best best and value ahead of the big 12-race program, which includes the Provincial Plate Heats.

Geelong race 2

#1 It's Only Money

Scored an impressive win on debut when running 22.66, which is the fastest anything in this field has run over the Geelong 400-metre circuit.

He should, at the bare minimum, improve another length or two with race fitness now on his side and drawing box one means he will take the shortest way home.

Showed good acceleration away from the boxes on debut and that will help him here again.

His main dangers here have drawn a little bit awkwardly which should only help his cause.

Very tough to see him being beaten based on the expected improvement and from the box he draws.

Suggested Bet: It’s Only Money win at $2.8

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 4

Geelong race 3

#4 Nicmac Miss

She has been brutally unlucky at her last two starts since bolting in with a maiden win at Bendigo on debut.

The dogs drawn inside of her do not possess amazing early speed and it means she might be able to find a trouble-free passage from box four.

She comes a good each-way price here, especially when we consider she started a $3.5 elect in the same grade last start when she was strung up for a run.

Now we get nearly double the price in what is a similar level of opposition.

Suggested Bet: Nicmac Miss each-way at $7 the win and $1.95 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 4/ 1, 4/ Field

Geelong race 4

#4 Shima Pearl

Has some serious upside.

She has shown a huge level of talent in her first two runs by winning both of them in a very professional manner.

The Andrea Dailly-trained chaser has a big motor and fast early acceleration that should see her land in the lead early in this race.

She improved her time markedly at her second start when running a red-hot 25.39 which was shaved her 25.86 winning time on debut.

If her upward spiral is anything to go by, she might just blow this field away.

Suggested Bet: Shima Pearl win at $2.8

Geelong race 6

#1 Octavia Bale

Has been racing well without winning at her two most recent starts.

She is now drawn to get all the favours from box one after drawing awkwardly at most of her runs in the last month.

Expecting her to drive through on the rail, muster up, hold the lead and boot clear in the back straight to gain an unassailable margin.

Like that she races on the five-day back up which shows Andrea Dailly has got this dog going well back at the home kennels.

Suggested Bet: Octavia Bale win at $4.2

Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 1, 4, 5, 8

Geelong race 8

#8 El cazador

The wide draw might actually suit El Cazador in this race.

He does not have great early speed, but what he lacks in that department he makes up for with his scorching mid-race burst and huge finishing surge.

What bodes well for him in this race, is that there are a few dogs here who might just be paddling in the latter stages as he hits top gear.

He will need some luck in run in order to punch through the field and be close enough on the home bend.

His talent and form is too hard to ignore.

Suggested Bet: El Cazador win at $3

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 8 & 1
