Wangaratta Tips & Previews, Tuesday 16th November

Victorian racing resumes at Wangaratta on Tuesday as the BetDeluxe racing team goes through the best bets on the nine-race card.

Tuesday racing in Victoria sees thoroughbred action resume at Wangaratta.

The bets bets across the nine-race program have been selected by the team at BetDeluxe.

Wangaratta Race 2

#14 psycho kate

Psycho Kate firmed heavily in betting last start when going up from 1100 metres to 1462 metres at her second career run.

She whacked away well for fifth and was beaten 3.6 lengths by Kiss Me If You Can who has since come out and won in higher grade.

Think this filly will train on and show natural elevation from that run given she had to the take the sharp rise in distance which probably just found her out late in the race.

She has now had the run over 1400 metres and should be able to the cope with the stamina required to run strongly over the distance.

Solid jockey change with Zac Spain taking the ride and expecting him to land this filly either in the lead or one pair back.

Suggested Bet: Psycho Kate win at $3.8

wangaratta race 3

#8 judiciary

Third-up to the mile looks the ideal situation for Judiciary.

The three-year-old gelding has been building to a big run at the mile and looks well versed to run a career peak rating here.

He has raced at provincial/city grade maidens at Ballarat and Cranbourne through his first two starts and has acquitted himself respectfully at distances that look well short of his best.

Craig Newitt, as we have become accustom to, is usually a very positive rider and should be able to get this horse much closer to the lead in the early parts of the race.

This race also looks the easiest field he has come up against in his career, so he should be making this a winning run against older horses who have less scope than him.

Suggested Bet: Judiciary win at $3.7

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 4, 5, 8, 11

Wangaratta race 5

#16 Grey Whisper

Going with the lightly-raced Grey Whisper who resumes after a five-month spell.

She has had some nice jumpouts and trials leading into this resuming run and looks to have come on big time since her debut career run back June where she finished on a heavy track.

Ben Brisbourne has opted to go for a host of gear changes to get this mare breathing and settling properly in the run in order to conserve her energy for later in the race.

In-form rider Dean Holland takes the mount and should be making this the mare’s first career victory at her home track.

Suggested Bet: Grey Whisper win at $2.8

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 9 & 16

Wangaratta race 7

#13 champagne friday

It will be champagne on Tuesday if Champagne Friday can lob for us here.

The seven-year-old mare has raced in much tougher company than what she comes up against today.

Her last two runs after a win in BM-58 grade has been in BM-64 company and, more recently, open company in the St Arnaud Cup where she started a $61 elect.

She tumbles back in grade here to BM-58 level and the small field might just see her settle in the lead with a positive ride from Teodore Nugent.

She will need to run second to fulfil a placing with scratchings decimating the field, but she is good enough to do so and we can have an each-way bet.

Suggested Bet: Champagne Friday each-way at $8.5 the the win and $3.5 the place.
