Sandown Tips & Previews, Wednesday 17th November

We are back at Sandown Lakeside for midweek racing with the BetDeluxe team going through all the best bets and value for a competitive eight-race card.

Sandown Lakeside returns to play host to Wednesday racing in Victoria.

The crew of experts at BetDeluxe has crunched through the best bets on the eight-race card with the best on the program coming up in race two.

Sandown Lakeside Race 2

#6 blazerro

Blazerro has already been specked by the market from an opening quote of $4 into $3.5 and will likely start favourite at this rate.

The price available still looks juicy with the a favourable set-up for this Phillip Stokes-trained three-year-old.

He resumed at Pakenham after being asked to sit outside the lead from barrier eight when he clearly was not completely screwed down to run to his best.

Did a great job to finish second and will only come on from that effort.

Barrier one should see Ben Allen push forward and find the front on a track that will likely favour the on-pace runners.

Stable seems to be finding good form now after a week stacked full of winners, so we want to be with this horse.

Suggested Bet: Blazerro win at $3.5

Sandown lakeside Race 4

#4 Be Alert

Having a speculative each-way play at Be Alert who looks all over a stayer.

There was a lot to like about the way he surged to the finish line when winning his maiden race over 1900 metres and it looks as through the rise in distance will suit him perfectly given his staying pedigree.

He has to make the step up in grade coming to town, but the barrier should allow him to get a very easy run tucked in behind the leaders.

This horse looks as though he is yet to find his peak and could very well do so here.

Will need to find at least three lengths to be in the top three, but he looks more than capable of doing so with the stable likely to have saved plenty of fitness through his first two runs this campaign as he gets up to this distance range.

Suggested Bet: Be Alert each-way at $9 the win and $2.7 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 1, 3, 4, 5, 7

sandown lakeside race 5

#4 ruru

Ruru is ready to go bang third-up for trainer Chris Waller

She has been building into her preparation beautifully and put the writing on the wall at Flemington in BM-70 grade over 1700 metres last start.

Waller and the stable would have left plenty up her sleeve for deeper into the preparation as she gets fully race fit and into her groove over 2000 metres.

The inside barrier and Brett Prebble being booked should mean she settles handy to the speed or she might even very well lead them up.

Either way, she is the clear on top selection.

Suggested Bet: Ruru win at $2.90

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 4, 5, 6

Sandown Lakeside race 8

#1 denero

Denero gets the blinkers back on and returns to Sandown where he has a good success in the past.

His two starts at the track read a win and a place.

The get-back-rub-on style he usually shows in his races might not exactly be endearing to the Sandown Lakside course but he is going to save all the ground on the inside having drawn barrier one.

The blinkers might just be able to spark him up enough so he does not have to settle too far back and catch an unassailable lead.

We do not have to outlay too much at the price to get a good collect either.

Seems worth the gamble at the odds and he does have a big finishing burst that is capable of winning this race should be in touch of the leading pack on the home corner.

Suggested Bet: Denero each-way at $14 the win and $4 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 11/ 1, 11, 13/ 1, 2, 6, 7, 11, 13
