Flemington Tips & Previews, Saturday 30th October

The crowds are back for four Group 1s at Flemington as get ready for the best bets for Derby Day at headquarters.

The roars of the crowd are back at Flemington as we gear up for four Group 1 races on Derby Day.

Will Forgot You and Gunstock fight out the Derby?

Will Extreme Warrior stamp his claim as the next star colt?

The best bets from BetDeluxe give us all the answers ahead of a huge day of racing from headquarters.

Flemington Race 1

#3 Prix De Turn

He might still be a maiden, but Prix De Turn has put in two fantastic runs to begin his career as a three-year-old colt.

He is out of Group 1 winning sire Turn Me Loose and will appreciate staying at the mile as well as the soft barrier.

Settled way too far back in the Caulfield Guineas at only his second career start, but he did so well to brave it out and run midfield.

Brian Higgins should be able to find a spot one-off the fence here with some cover in a midfield position and he will not be spotting the leaders 10 lengths either.

He has a very nice turn of acceleration when flattens out and his running style will definitely suit the wide expanses of Flemington.

Suggested Bet: Prix De Turn win at $3.7

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3, 11/ 1, 3, 11/ 1, 3, 5, 10 ,11, 12

Flemington race 5

#3 Tofane

She is a little beauty is Tofane.

Rarely runs a bad race and her effort behind I’m Thunderstruck in the Toorak Handicap last start was great.

Comes back to her own sex here at weight-for-age level and looks fantastically placed by the stable.

Should get the saloon passage through the race from barrier two and she can use her solid platform at the mile to run a career best at this distance range.

Very hard to beat.

Suggested Bet: Tofane win at $3.5

Suggested Exotic: First Four – 3/ 1, 2, 5, 9, 13/ 1, 2, 5, 9, 13/ 1, 2, 5, 9, 13

Flemington race 6

#1 Forgot You

The class runner of the field who is poised to settle in the perfect spot to launch his grinding sprint.

Ran a bottler in the Caulfield Guineas before winning the Drummond Vase at Moonee Valley last start as a $2 favourite.

He had to take off from the 800-metre mark last start and kept sustaining his run to the finish post by nabbing his $101 stablemate Commander Harry.

Love how he kept his stride and continued to extend his winning margin after the post which tells you he is ready to eat up to the 2500 metres of Flemington.

He seems to be a horse who really appreciates racing in a straight line, so the long Flemington straight will give him time to wind up, pin his ears and fly home down the middle.

Suggested Bet: Forgot You each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9

flemington race 7

#9 Extreme Warrior

Group 3 winners do not get any more dominant than what we saw from this three-year-old colt at Caulfield in the Blue Sapphire.

He crushed his stablemate Profiteer and rocketed into contention this Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.

He ran the best last 800 metres of the day at Caulfield last start which proves his ability to sustain a sprint for a long way.

He only needs to improve a length to be in the finish here, but given what the stable has said about him we expect an elevation of anywhere between two to three lengths being third-up and fully fit heading into this race.

Could be unbeatable if he handles the straight.

Best bet of the weekend.

Suggested Bet: Extreme Warrior win at $4.4
