Cranbourne Tips & Previews, Friday 29th October

Cranbourne plays host to Friday night racing as our experts look through the best bets and value on the card heading into a massive weekend of Group 1 action.

Cranbourne plays host to a big Friday night card of racing as we head into Derby Day eve.

There looks to be a handful of best bets that will provide with plenty of value and hopefully a pocketful of cash heading into this weekend!

Cranbourne RAce 1

#14 Skipping Girl

Skipping Girl was a good thing beaten on debut when being strung up for a run on the rails at Mornington.

The three-year-old filly appears here and is drawn well off the fence this time which is going to aid her chance significantly.

She will be midfield with cover and Jackie Horner can make her move on the filly without being impeded.

We will get to see what is truly under the bonnet of this horse.

Expecting her to be winning this race tonight with race fitness also on her side.

Suggested Bet: Skipping Girl win at $2.8

cranbourne race 5

#3 Invincible Crown

Races on the quick back-up which is good to see after a nice effort at Sale over 1400 metres.

He ran home his last 400 metres in reasonable time to suggest the rise to the mile on his home track is going to be an ideal situation for him.

Not too fussed by the wide barrier as he looks like a galloper who will appreciate the freedom to run in free air rather than being cluttered up on the inside of runners.

He is clearly going very well and must have taken great benefit from the run last start with only a five-day gap in between runs.

Will only have to run down the leader in Pacific Ruby who looks vulnerable stepping up to 1600 metres.

Suggested Bet: Invincible Crown win at $3.7

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 9

Cranbourne race 7

#7 Brilliant Venture

Finally found winning form last start and he looks ready to hold onto it in this 2600-metre event.

Damien Thornton will give him a dream run from barrier two and will do all the bludging work for the majority of the race in order to leave plenty in the tank for the concluding stages.

He has a big fitness base that he can use to full effect in this staying race and he might  even very well lead them up on this leaders favoured track.

Drops a only a kilo for going up in a grade, but he is going too well at the moment for weight on his back to be much of an issue.

Suggested Bet: Brilliant Venture win at $2.5

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 4, 5, 9/ 2, 4, 5, 9

Cranbourne race 8

#2 Fast 'n' deep

The leader of the race who looks to complete control of the tempo from the wide barrier.

This six-year-old mare has raced against the likes of Ziavera and Absolutely Flirt all of whom are now Saturday-grade winners in their own right.

That form looks better than anything the rest of the field has produced.

Predicting Lewis German to ping his way out of his barriers, find the front, get them all running along, and booting clear on the bend to hold from the fast-finishing swoopers.

Looks very hard to beat based on what she has done last preparation and her jumpouts leading into this event give us confidence she is going well enough to produce her best first-up.

Suggested Bet: Fast ‘N’ Deep win at $3.9

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 4, 7
