The ‘Bool is the place to be on Thursday with thoroughbred action taking us to Warrnambool Racecourse.
The best best have been found and there looks to be plenty of value on the card, in particular a first starter in race four.
warrnambool race 2
#7 lost impact
This horse is screaming out for 2000 metres and beyond after two solid efforts at the 1800-metre distance range.
She finds herself racing in familiar surroundings at her home track after doing a great job at Kyneton behind Indiana Lily last start who has since come out and won a race to bare credence to the form.
Barrier six presents Will Gordon with the opportunity to settle midfield with cover and then he can peel out to use this horse’s sprint.
The breeding of this six-year-old mare suggests the 2000 metres is going to be perfect for a horse for her style and the fact she is lightly raced means she will still have plenty of zip and spring in her step.
Suggested Bet: Lost Impact win at $2.4.
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 2, 4/ 2, 4, 6
warrnambool race 4
#7 rich bay
The jump outs of Rich Bay looked to be nice enough to suggest he can win on debut.
His first effort at the jump outs was on September 27 where he showed enough zip to lead a small field over 900 metres and ended up finishing second without being asked to do too much in the home straight.
His second jump out saw him leave the gates in a sprightly fashion, only to be heavily restrained and asked to settle.
He seemed to resent it for a while, but eventually came under the jockey and hit the line well enough to run second again.
Doubt they will be holding him up on race day and expect him to find a spot somewhere near the lead or even in the lead.
Should give us a nice sight at each-way odds.
Suggested Bet: Rich Bay each-way at $8 the win and $2.5 the place.
Warrnambool race 5
#13 magical chloe
Magic Chloe is ready to win her maiden race after a nice debut at Horsham.
The three-year-old filly got back in a leader-dominated race and found the line really nice late in the race to run second.
Rise in distance to 1300 metres from an 1100-metre debut should see her find a position much nearer the leaders and within striking distance to use her sprint.
A lot of her opposition here are either out of form and have too many convictions to put your hard earned money on, whereas she is a horse on the rise.
Her last start effort would win this race and that is without factoring in any improvement.
Suggested Bet: Magical Chloe win at $2.7
warrnambool race 7
#2 fabian's spirit
Giving Fabian’s Spirit one more go here.
The Denis Daffy-trained galloper has been racing in great form without winning, but looks to get the right set up in this race.
Raced in much harder company at Moonee Valley last week and only finished 2.5 lengths off Exeter who would probably start $1.5 in this field.
Barrier seven will ensure jockey Will Gordon is out of trouble and can make one run down the outside without being halted.
There does not look to be too much speed in the race, so he will be within touching distance coming around the home bend rather than chasing his rivals from the 800-metre mark as he did last time he raced at this course.
Suggested Bet: Fabian’s Spirit win at $4.4
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 3
