It is Tuesday racing from Swan Hill with the best bets and value propositions ahead of the eight-race program.
Our best bet comes early in the card with a first starter screwed down to make a big impression.
Swan hill race 1
#7 nordic rover
It was hard not to like what Nordic Rover did at his Sandown jump out leading into this debut run.
He jumped nicely from his barrier, settled with cover and whipped around the outside of runners in what looked to a real educational trial to get him to understand how to opposition away.
He responded nicely to some light riding, but it was how he kept his stride going after the line and his mindset to keep running that gives us confidence here.
Will get a beautiful stalking run from the inside barrier and will just need an ounce of luck at the top of the straight to be a serious winning threat.
Suggested Bet: Nordic Rover win at $2.80
Swan hill race 2
#14 Prophet's Choice
Comes out a fast-run and highly-rated maiden race behind Bay of Islands and Romany Rocks.
This three-year-old filly had a shocking time of it when asked to sit three wide with no cover and having to take off from a long way out.
The runner-up of the maiden race she was in last start has since come out and won very impressively.
Her fitness gave away late, but that run will no doubt bring her nicely for this much softer race.
Barrier four should see her position up to be at least a pair off the leaders and the slower tempo should see her sprint be used to better effect here.
Comes up good each-way odds.
Suggested Bet: Prophet’s Choice each-way at $9 the win and $3 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 13, 14/ 2, 13, 14/ 2, 12, 13, 14,
Swan hill race 4
#11 Moon and Back
Moon and Back resumes in her second preparation off a nice jump out win at Penshurst over 800 metres.
She travelled nicely on the bridle and went to the line under her own steam without being asked to do much.
This starting points looks a much easier race than she debut in back on July 1 and she does seem to have come back a bit more mature and stronger in her frame.
Should enjoy the ideal run from barrier four where she can either lead or take a sit one-pair back.
Either way, she is the one to be with in this race.
Suggested Bet: Moon and Back win at $2.80
Suggested Exotic: Quinella – 1 & 11
Swan hill race 6
#7 legless nick
Legless Nick is going to run a much improve race here after being butchered at Bendigo in BM-58 grade over 2400 metres.
He has trapped three deep and kept pressing towards what was a very solid lead speed.
Did a great job to hold on for third and will now be ready to thrive coming into this race with that effort at Bendigo likely to set him up with a strong base of fitness.
Looks the sole leader in the race and should able to get his own out in front and leave plenty in the tank for late in the race.
Suggested Bet: Legless Nick each-way at $8 the win and $3.3 the place.
