Benalla Tips & Previews, Monday 25th October

As we creep closer to the Flemington spring racing carnival, Monday racing this week takes us to Benalla for the BetDeluxe best bets.

Time to find the energy within to brave through another week of racing as we prepare for the BetDeluxe best bets from Benalla

There looks a filly in the first race who has the ability to dash quickly that can get us off to a great start.

Benalla Race 1

#8 Little Miss Rich

Great to see she has been ridden both on the speed and being given a chance to find her feet to settle under a hold in both her jump outs.

She was barely touched in her most recent jump out over 800 metres in Avoca and ended up finishing fourth in a quiet jump out.

The country level starting points looks a perfect spot for her to kick off given she is trained by city-class stable Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace.

Draws the ideal barrier for a juvenile race horse where she can either lead and use the rails as a guide to the finish post or settle a pair back with cover.

Either way, her gate speed will see her land on the speed and she can put the field away.

Suggested Bet: Little Miss Rich win at $3.9

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 8 & 11

BEnalla race 4

#10 Spanish King

Debuted over 1600 metres and just kept surging to the line only to be nabbed on the post in a close finish.

Will no doubt be better off for the run and will strip fitter for the effort.

His first ever run was not exactly well served by the run-in-transit he had after being three pairs back on the fence and failing to build full momentum.

Being drawn outside of horses looks to be better for this three-year-old gelding given he looks a big, bold striding type of horse who will appreciate the galloping room.

Love the rise to 2000 metres straight away as it will allow to race handier to the speed against slower horses and he can put them away easily.

Suggested Bet: Spanish King win at $3.5

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 10/ 6, 8, 11/ 6, 8, 11

benalla race 6

#13 strobe light

Strobe Light looks to get her best chance at cracking through for that elusive second victory.

She raced behind the likes of Brawl and Wascaly last start who give this field a genuine hiding.

Barrier six sets up nicely for her in order to take up an on field position and she can easily find a closer spot in the run than she did a month ago.

Will more than likely start much shorter than her current quote.

Suggested Bet: Strobe Light win at $4.4

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 5, 6, 13

Benalla Race 8

#1 Chisparedown

Chipsaredown finally gets a race in his favour after two respectable runs two start his campaign.

Got too far back and was never in the race at this course over 1200 metres when resuming then struck a heavy eight-track at Bendigo in the harder company.

Drops back in grade will definitely be urged forward from the wide barrier and will spike his performance getting back onto a better surface.

The odds at the moment look exorbitant for a horse who will race close to the speed and is almost, if not, fully fit.

Suggested Bet: Chipsaredown each-way at $10 the win and $3.3 the place.
