The Meadows Greyhounds Tips & Previews, Saturday 23rd October

The BetDeluxe team goes through the Saturday night card for the best bets at The Meadows.

We return to The Meadows for a big Saturday night of greyhound action.

The heats of the Hume Cup will be run and won as we fester our way through the best bets on the card.

The Meadows Race 4

#4 ZIpping Rambo

Showed exactly what we wanted to see from hime last start – lightning early speed.

Pinged the lids and led all the way to win lats week and Sandown.

Expecting a very similar showing here on a track he excels at with five wins from 10 starts.

This opposition is going to have a time keeping up with his tail should he get an uncontested lead as predicted on the speed map.

Should win this on his way to a Hume Cup final.

Suggested Bet: Zipping Rambo win at $2.10

The Meadows Race 5

#1 Paddy Wants Pats

Paddy Wants Pats is the one to be with in this race.

Gets up to 600 metres for the second ever time in his career and he looks a well rounded dog to be able handle the 90 metres.

The ideal thing about stepping up in distance for him is that he will face dogs that are not as sharp as what he has come up against in previous races over the last two months.

It means he should be able to find either the lead, or a spot very close to the lead that will allow him to fully extend and utilise his sprint.

The main danger is clearly Bobby The Brute, but that runner has had 22 days since his last run which is not the ideal set up.

Suggested Bet: Paddy Wants Pats win at $3.1

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 3, 6

THe meadows race 6

#2 king of calypso

A real jump-and-run greyhound who will take luck out of the equation by finding the front.

He was never threatened at his last start victory when leading all the way and will adopt similar tactics in this race which is where his advantage lies.

Having had the runs on the board over 600 metres will also ensure he is still holding his stride and energy to the end of the race, whereas his main rival, Fernando Cazz, is yet to run the 600 metres in he current campaign and has had over a month away from the races.

King of Calypso will be the best of the night.

Suggested Bet: King Of Calypso win at $3

the meadows race 7

#1 Tyler Durden

On talent alone he is easily the best dog in the field.

The problem for him, recently, is his inability to jump fast and get himself into the race so he can use his brutal acceleration as we have seen in the past.

However, at the price, he is worth a play due to the brilliant training nature and guidance of Jeffrey Britton.

Drawing the inside box will ensure he catches sight of the bunny nice and early, and he can burrow up from the inside and take the shortest path home.

Suggested Bet: Tyler Durden win at $3.5

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 3, 5
