Bendigo Cup Final Tips & Previews, Saturday 16th October

The tips, preview and runner-by-runner guide to the Bendigo Cup at Bendigo.

A big Saturday night approaches Bendigo as we prepare for the running of the Bendigo Cup with $50,000 on offer for the winner.

The BetDeluxe team has gone through the runner-by-runner guide to find you the winner and best bet in the race.

#1 Paua of Buddy

Steven White

A lightly-raced chaser who has a plethora of speed and talent capable of winning of this race.

Scorched to the front in his Bendigo Cup Heat win last week when jumping from box, crunching through his gears, finding the front and bolting away to win by four lengths.

He won in a time of 23.59 which can be improved on tonight jumping from box one.

Have to tip him on top with the price differential on Typhoon Sammy being too wide.

He can definitely run near the times that the favourite has with a shorter way home from the inside draw.

Odds: $3.8 the win and $1.4 the place.
Finishing position: First

#2 Perfect colour

Jane Reynolds

Won his heat well, but it was too slow of a time to be challenging in this.

Jumps and settles midfield, so will need  some luck in front of him to be a threat.

Odds: $41 the win and $6 the place
Finishing Position: Seventh

#3 Shima Classic

Andrea dailly

Much like Perfect Colours, won her heat in a time that is no where near good enough to be near the likes of Paua of Buddy or Typhoon Sammy.

The inside draw is not ideal either.

Prefer her to be drawn outside of runners in the box seven or eight.

Odds: $14 the win and $3.6 the place.
Finishing position: Fifth

#4 Dr Tucker

William McMahon

Zipped along out in front to record a time 23.38 in his Bendigo Cup heat victory over 425 metres last week.

He will put himself in the race with his early speed out of the box.

The only concern is that with the speed of Paua of Buddy and Typhoon Sam drawn inside and outside of him, he probably will not find the front as easily as he did last week.

Top four chance if he does not get squished from the middle box.

Odds: $4.2 the win and $1.6 the place.
Finishing position: Fourth

#5 ferdinand boy

david geall

Has won four races in a row leading up to this.

He has showed blistering gate speed in all those wins and he did crush Dr Tucker two starts ago when winning easily at Sale over 440 metres as a $1.9 elect.

Represents much better value than Dr Tucker in this event and can be the each-way play in the race if Paua of Buddy does not tickle your fancy.

Odds: $7 the win and $1.70 the place.
Finishing position: Third

#6 Aston Shine

Graeme Jose

Got a tad lucky when winning his heat race as an $8.90 market elect.

He will need a few of the more talented types in this field to strike rotten luck.

Looks outclassed here.

Odds: $71 the win and $12 the place.
Finishing position: Last

#7 typhoon sammy

jason thompson

A freak chaser who has won nine out of his last 10 starts.

The inside draws have helped him significantly in achieving this so far breathtaking winning streak.

He is a no nonsense greyhound who jumps cleanly, pins his ear back, finds the front and just keeps running.

He won his heat in a slashing 23.28 which is the fastest time of any dog in this field.

The only knock on him tonight is the wide box and whether or not he will be able to cross.

Obviously a winning chance, but the odds are nothing to get excited about.

Odds: $2 the win and $1.26 the place.
Finishing position: Second

#8 Lots of Chatter

Graeme Jose

He will be following Typhoon Sammy across the wide gate.

Unlikely to possess the speed to cross the favourite and Paua of Buddy, so could be caught three and four deep on the first bend.

Happy to leave him out of the betting.

Odds: $21 the win and $4.4 the place.
Finishing position: Sixth
