Sandown Park Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 14th October

Tips and previews from the big Thursday night card at Sandown Park.

Thursday night racing from Sandown Park is the place you want to be with the running of Melbourne Cup Preludes headlining a huge card.

The BetDeluxe team goes through the best bets ahead of the 12-race program.

Sandown Park Race 1

#4 Quebec bale

Scorched along to record a blistering 23.95 victory at Bendigo over 425 meters and was then outshone in a tough race at Sandown last start.

He drew box two a week ago when racing here over 515 metres, was crossed early, and never able to really get into top stride.

He started shorter than Photo Man in that race who now comes up well under the odds.

We get a good each-way price to find out if he can get a clean run from box four and show what he did at Bendigo, which would be a super hard to beat in this race.

Suggested Bet: Quebec Bale each-way at $5 the win and $1.65 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 4, 8/ 2, 4, 8/ 2, 4, 7, 8

Sandown park race 7

#3 Carry On Angel

Backing him in to return to his winning ways after running against some of the best dogs in the country at his last two starts.

He got skittled last start when jumping from a middle box against star chaser Koblenz and his form prior to that would be good enough to win this.

If we scroll back through his form to his win at Sandown on September, he scorched the circuit to win in a time of 29.11 when leading all the way.

Anything in the realm of that effort will see him win this by a space.

Suggested Bet: Carry On Angel win at $3.1

Sandown Park Race 8

#1 Hadouken

Hadouken has an incredible record at Sandown over this track  and distance with six starts equating to five wins.

He is going to have to chase down and compete with star chaser Koblenz who is the odds-on elect in the field.

Clearly been building towards this Melbourne Cup Prelude and expect him to run a huge race at each-way odds as he follows Koblenz into the race.

We get a great price to back him each-way and if he can somehow bounce away quickly from box one and hold out the favourite, his middle and late sections are good enough to hold on.

Suggested Bet: Hadouken each-way at $11 the win and $2.3 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 2

Sandown Park Race 9

#1 Hebridean Black

Very heavily in the corner of Hebridean Black who is ready to run a cracker in this Melbourne Cu Prelude.

He has catapulted to a new level at his last three starts with three brilliant victories since resuming from a 116-day spell.

His main danger, Do It, got all the luck in the world when wining the Group 1 South Australia Cup last week, and he will not get that here.

Hebridean Black will the first one into stride, should find the lead early and boot clear to win this.

Draws favourably in box one and is a clear on top pick.

Suggested Bet: Hebridean Black win at $2.7

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1/ 4/ Field

Sandown Park Race 10

#1 Shantelle Rose

Shantelle Rose draws her favourite alley in box one.

She has been racing from middle boxes at her last few starts and looked to resent jumping from box five when finishing well behind Hebridean Bale last week.

Her record from box one reads ten starts with four wins and three minor placings.

There does look to be a little bit of speed from out deeper on the track, but she should be able to muster with a clear run early and find the front heading towards the firs bend.

If she can find the lead, they will not be catching her.

Looks the worth the gamble from the cherry.

Suggested Bet: Shantelle Rose win at $4.4

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 4
