The Thousand Guineas Group 1 meeting from Caulfield greets us for Wednesday racing.
‘The Wiz’ has gone through the competitive eight-race card and had found the best bets and value propositions ahead of a big day of racing.
With the weather looking quite gloomy in Melbourne, we want to look for fit horses who can handle wet going.

Caulfield Race 3
#9 Alcyone
Has the Mr Brightside form line to his name after running a brave second behind the Lindsey Park winning machine at Flemington last start.
The Godolphin-owned and James Cummings-trained four-year-old gelding has returned a much improved horse since having the gelding operation and having the blinkers applied.
Draws the perfect barrier to settle in the first four and can handle the wet going should the rain come.
Jockey Damien Oliver will be stacked full of confidence after riding home the Caulfield Guineas winner and he should able to give this horse an unimpeded run to the line.
Making this galloper the very best bet of the day.
Suggested Bet: Alcyone win at $3.1
Caulfield Race 4
#4 Royal Crown
May as well have not participated in his most recent effort when 13th of 16 runners at Sandown over 1800 metres in BM-84 grade three weeks ago.
He drew barrier 15 that day and settled last in a field that strung out with at least 15-20 lengths from first to last throughout the middle stages of the race.
He was actually hitting the line very nicely in restricted room and got himself in the top six or seven runners about 100 metres after the post.
It shows us that he is going very well back at home in his stables and the rise to 2400 metres is only going to help his cause.
He has a very nice track and distance win here which, if replicated, would be very hard to beat.
Comes up massive odds and keen to with him on an each-way basis.
Suggested Bet: Royal Crown each-way at $21 the win and $5.5 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 4
Caulfield Race 6
#9 Extreme warrior
Broke through for his maiden victory at Echuca last start when he trotted in by four lengths as a $1.09 favourite on rain-effected going.
He stormed to the line and put his hand up as a big player in the spring with a win in sharp time compared to similar races on the day.
Expecting him to show a stack of improvement and getting to his home track is only going to better serve his chances.
Hoping he can settle in the first four of the run from a soft barrier and be stronger this stablemate Profiteer who will set a lightning pace up front.
Very confident this colt finishes top two with even luck and projected natural improvement from the resuming run.
Suggested Bet: Extreme Choice each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 4, 8, 9
Caulfield Race 7
#6 Zouzarella
Heavily in the corner of Zouzarella who is poised to peak into what is her grand-final race.
The three-year-old filly has been building towards a career peak run into the Thousand Guineas and looks set to do so after a big effort in the Listed Jim Moloney Stakes last start.
She rocketed home after settling second last from a wide barrier and attempting to chase down Queen of Dubai, but was too far back to win the race.
Barrier two will allow her to settle closer in the run than she did last start and she gets the services of Brett Prebble who has been in sparkling form over the last month.
She can handle wet ground if the predicted rain does come and is the clear top pick in the race.
Suggested Bet: Zouzarella win at $4.8
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 6, 10
