Kyneton Tips & Previews, Tuesday 12th October

Another day on the punt for 'The Wiz' as he sets his sights on the best best from the Tuesday card at Kyneton.

An eight-race card greets us from Kyneton as ‘The Wiz’ gets ready for a big set of best bets.

As usual, he hones on the maiden runners to find his value and there looks to be a good each-way proposition in the last.

Kyneton Race 1

#13 Cassatt

Cassatt looked to be put under the pump in her most recent jump out and, to the eye, it did not look too impressive.

However, she chased down the leaders of the jump out well and was keeping up her stride well past the finish line in the back straight of Sandown over 800 metres.

She did jump out very nicely prior to his debut last preparation, but failed to make an impact on race day when leading and packing up shop as a $3.6 favourite after being very well backed.

Happy to put some faith in that starting price.

She looks well over the odds.

Suggested Bet: Cassatt each-way at $12 the win and $3.4 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella – 8 & 13

Kyneton Race 5

#5 Great Ambition

Great Ambition was a smart winner when resuming at Kyneton over 1469 metres and winning by just under a length with 61kgs.

The market did warm to her in the BM-58 race after holding steady at the $6 quote and she has been well supported in early markets into a similar a price.

She already had as a well-rated runner-up effort at this track over 1887 metres in BM-58 class, which would be good enough to win this and she has arguably improve since that run.

Patrick Moloney can hopefully find a midfield spot in the two or three wide running line, peel out and let his down with his run the middle of the short Kyneton straight.

We can have an each-way bet just incase she does not reel in the leaders.

Suggested Bet: Great Ambition each-way at $6.5 the win and $2.4 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 5, 10, 11

Kyneton Race 7

#7 Trinity's Reward

It was a sickening for backers of Trinity’s Reward last start with the mare behind shuffled back and held up at a critical stage of the BM-58 1400-metre race she contested.

Unfortunately, jockey Matthew Allen had the outsider he was tailing into the straight regress into the straight and it cost the mare and him all momentum and winning hope.

The horse is going very well at the moment and this race represents an opportunity for her and jockey to atone for the unlucky effort three weeks ago.

Suggested Bet: Trinity’s Reward win at $3.3

Kyneton RAce 8

#5 The Great Bratski

We were all over the six-year-old mare when she was truck loaded in betting at Moe last start.

She could only manage a fourth-place finish after tipping her at a double-figure price and then being well tried into a $4.8 elect.

This race to sets up a little bit better for her as she gets on a drier track and the speed map looks to lack early pace.

It means she can be dug up from the gates to ascertain a front-running role and boot clear on the tight-turning bend of the Kyneton straight.

She has a shorter starting than the top-weight for when they last met at Moe a fortnight ago and clearly represents the better value between the two.

Suggested Bet: The Great Bratski each-way at $8 the win and $2.5 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 5/ 1, 2, 4, 5, 7/ 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11
