Sandown Park Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 30th September

Tips and previews from the big Thursday night card at Sandown Park.

Sandown Park takes centre stage for Thursday night greyhound racing.

The best bets ahead of a big 12-race card.

Sandown Park Race 2

#5 Nangar Ellie

Nangar Ellie ventured down to Victoria from NSW for the first time in her career and the move proved a success.

She won at her first start at Sandown over 515 metres 11 days ago and did so with a blistering 29.54 time which would easily win this race.

Expecting her to make an improvement from that run given it was her first race in a month since making the move to Victoria.

She should be able to led this race with ease and hold off the finishing burst of El Dorado.

Suggested Bet: Nangar Ellie win at $2.3

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 5, 6

Sandown park race 3

#6 Sunstruck

There are a lot of dogs with convictions and poor form in this race, so we will side with the lightly-raced Sunstruck who looks to have plenty of scope.

His win two starts back was a sharp 30.34 run at The Meadows and he backed up that run with a third-placed finish at Sandown over 595 metres when running a length behind Orca in a time of 34.46.

Those two runs are going to have in great physical condition for this race and love the fact he races on the four-day back up.

It tells us he is fit and ready to ping the lids in what looks to be a fairly weak race.

Suggested Bet: Sunstruck win at $3

Sandown Park Race 5

#1 Vayda Bale

Launching into Vayda Bale who draws ideally in box one.

She is almost always the fastest away from the lids and the lead looks to be hers for the taking in this event.

Her last start runner-up finish behind a smart one called Russian Sub is superior to anything in this field and it must be said that she did not have the race on her terms either, which makes the run even better.

She has a massive starting price advantage over her main rival Do Good Davlin who is drawn outside of her.

Very confident she wins this race if he gets an unopposed lead, as predicted, before the first bend.

Suggested Bet: Vayda Bale win at $3.3

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1/ 2/ 6, 8

Sandown Park Race 8

#3 Drako Bale

Five Star is clearly the one to beat in this race, but Drako Bale might just be the one to knock him off.

He ran a length behind the very smart Gypsy Wyong a fortnight ago who was heavily backed in a race last weekend which suggested the form out of it is quite strong.

He will need to get across from box three and it looks as through he might be able to do so with the dogs drawn inside of him not possessing the early dash he can show.

The dogs drawn the inside of Five Star might just be able to keep him out for long enough to see Drako Bale establish a race-winning margin into the back straight.

Happy to take the punt at the price we are getting and we can back him each-way.

Suggested Bet: Drako Bale each-way at $5.5 the win and $1.55 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3, 7/ 3, 7,/ 4, 8

Sandown Park Race 12

#2 Rebel May Road

Heavily against the favourite here who has to contend with nearly a month-and-a-half away from racing as well as a step up to 515 meters for the first time in her career.

Rebel May Road looks the one to be with here.

He has a solid fitness base and draws an inside box which will assists his rails hunting tendency.

He will need a bit of early room to get his motor going in the race and with a slower dog drawn inside of him, expect him to rail up early and find clear running as he attempt to chase down the favourite who will be gasping for air in the last 50 metres.

Suggested Bet: Rebel May Road win at $5

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 4
