Kilmore Tips & Previews, Tuesday September 28th

Tuesday racing takes us to Kilmore for the best bets from The Wizard of Odds.

Kilmore Racing Club plays host to Tuesday racing as The Wizard of Odds goes through the best bets.

He is all over a first starter in the second, while a filly looks ready to pounce on debut.

Kilmore Race 2

#7 Emperor Of France

Emperor of France looks a real Derby prospect after what he has shown at this two trials leading into this 1450-metre debut.

The three-year-old gelding from the Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr) stable has had two trials over 1190 metres, one of which was in May as a two-year-old where he tailed out and was spelled.

Since then he has returned to the track and has shown a stack of improvement with his most recent trial being on 13th of September.

He sported the blinkers for the first time, went straight to the front and ended up finishing second after being hard ridden in the straight.

Looks a real one-paced style of runner and he should be able to find the front in this field and get rolling along to have his rivals struggling to keep up.

Suggested Bet: Emperor of France win at $2.90

Kilmore Race 4

#12 Sharwin

Sharwin looks a very sharp filly from what she has shown in her most recent jump out at Mornington.

Her heat on September 22 over 900 metres saw her ping to the lead and win by a space in a performance of sustained speed.

The only query on her here might be the last 50 metres as she is yet to be into the mould of being ‘race fit’, however she has three jump outs to keep her ready for this.

Daniel Moor takes the ride and he is in, arguably, the form of his career.

Very hard to beat should she get the lead on her own terms as we predict.

Suggested Bet: Sharwin win at $3.6

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 9, 11, 12

Swan Hill Race 5

#11 Grinzinger Knight

The market looks to have got this race marked incorrectly.

Grinzinger Knight should be much shorter than his current quote after a tough effort when leading the field up at this first trip in excess of 1500 metres.

The three-year-old colt stepped up to 1733 metres at Geelong after a month away from racing and whacked away bravely to hold on for fourth.

He now backs up 11 days later and gets full control of the lead of the again should Fred Kersley opt to go towards the front from the wide gate.

Started much shorter in that Geelong race than the current favourite Cheryl’s Lad and that must be respected.

Suggested Bet: Grinzinger Knight win at $4.4

Suggested Exotic: Quinella – 3 & 11

Kilmore Race 8

#2 Strategist

Strategist has been scratched from a handful of races after his first-up effort and now pops up in this country BM-58 in an attempt to find his winning ways again.

He is yet to post that elusive second career victory and could only manage a second-last finish at Pakenham when resuming after some nice jump outs.

Think the jump out form he showed is more of a true reflection of what is to come this preparation and he did have excuses last start.

He has nearly a year away from racing which likely took its toll from a fitness point of view in that 1000-metre dash, but he should take great benefit from the run.

Barrier one here will see him get a nice suck run in behind the leaders and he is the one to beat in this event.

Suggested Bet: Strategist win at $2.8
