Swan Hill Tips & Previews, Monday September 27th

The Wizard of Odds begins the week for punters with his best bets from Swan Hill.

We head up north towards the border when Swan Hill hosts Monday racing after a big weekend of Group 1 action.

The Wizard of Odds has no time to rest and is on the case with the best bets.

Swan Hill Race 1

#6 Riddlero

It can often be a tad difficult to line-up how good the two-year-old form is heading into the three-year-old season and, while Marine One has the runs on the board he does seem too short in the market.

We will side with the un-raced Riddlero who showed nice speed to win a Wangaratta jump out over 900 metres.

He extended beautifully late in the piece with the rest of the field struggling to get anywhere near him after he put himself in the lead and did not let anyone go past him.

If Marine One tries to come across from the wide barrier, Tahlia Hope might have a backside to follow into the race rather than being caught out in no man’s land without cover.

Each-way bet to commence the card.

Suggested Bet: Riddlero each-way at $8 the win and $1.85 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 3 & 6

Swan HIll Race 3

#2 Autissiodorum

Autissiodorum comes out of an Albury 1600-metre maiden where he just nabbed on the line in a close go.

He has been close to winning at his last two starts, which have been over the line, and he now strikes a winnable race with a good base of fitness under his belt.

That is his edge he has over his main rival Khan’s Treasure who is yet to run over the distance and is unlikely to have the fitness levels he has.

Jockey Blaike McDougall is riding in sensational form after punching out three winners on Benalla Cup Day over the weekend.

Expecting him to land in a midfield spot with cover and allow this horse to roll into the race at about the 600-metre mark where he can put the pedal down and use the fitness base to full effect.

This will be about getting Khan’s Treasure under the pump and, if McDougall can do so it will be the reason for winning this race.

Suggested Bet: Autissiodorum win at $2.8

Swan Hill Race 8

#2 Orienzel

The former Mick Price galloper is no under the guidance of Nathan Hobson at Swan Hill and he might just run a bold race out in front.

He went straight to the front in BM-64 grade last start over 1200 metres when having his first run for the new stable and whacked away well to finish fourth.

The first thing to notice was the early speed he showed from the barriers which is something new.

Leaders down in grade is always a factor that needs to be considered and it is the situation we get with this five-year-old gelding.

Should run a run a nice each-way race.

Suggested Bet: Orienzel each-way at $8.5 the win and $2.9 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2 ,8

Swan Hill Race 9

#9 Gaucho

Gaucho is poised to win this BM-58 mile race after finding form when second-up from a spell just over a fortnight ago.

He was very heavily tried in the betting when resuming over 1500 metres, but was given next to no chance after being restrained in the early part of the race.

Third-up and with a favourable map, this race is at this mercy.

Will Price just needs to find the front and get this horse rolling along at a good tempo to get all his challengers chasing him from the half way point of the race.

The drying Swan Hill track will only enhance his chances as well with his two career wins and his best form coming on good ground.

Suggested Bet: Gaucho win at $3.6
