Kyneton Tips & Previews, Tuesday September 21st

Tuesday racing takes us to Kyneton as The Wizard of Odds plows through the best bets and value on the program.

Kyneton is our venue for Tuesday racing as head towards the Derby and Oaks trials at Flemington tomorrow.

The best bets ahead of competitive card has The Wizard of Odds excited with his best of the day coming up early.

Kyneton Race 2

#1 Dashing Rebel

Having a speculative play each-way on Brian & Ashley McKnight’s Dashing Rebel who showed nice ability at the jump outs he competed in.

His first jump out was a 900-metre effort where he was asked to barely anything under a tight hold and the second, over 1000 metres, was a nice win at Burumbeet where he extended beautifully.

His most recent jump out, however, might have just unveiled what type of talent he has after keeping up with Stakes-winning mare Chaillot.

He is going to get a dream run-up on the pace from barrier five and should run a nice race at big each-way odds and with thee jumpouts into him he will be fit to go over 1200 metres.

Suggested Bet: Dashing Rebel each-way at $21 the win and $6 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 8

Kyneton Race 3

#12 I Like Big Putts

I Like Big Putts looks ready to break her maiden status.

She showed nice gate speed at her first-up run from a spell a fortnight ago when kicking strongly to only be run down by the very smart Xtra Gear.

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott would have surely left a heap of fitness in the tank for her second-up effort and love the fact that she rises up to 1212 metres.

Waterhouse on-pace runners are always tough to get through and Lewis German should be able to boot towards the lead, hold the front and kick away.

Her main danger is Rutherford, but she maps to be at least four to six lengths ahead of him and that will be crucial at Kyneton with the rail out likely to assist leaders by an extra length or two.

Suggested Bet: I Like Big Putts win at $4.2

Kyneton Race 7

#4 Strategist

Strategist has the benefit of a run under his belt now after resuming off nearly a year away from the racing scene.

The trial and jump out leading into his first-up effort in BM-64 grade over 1000 metres were quite solid and he did race with four weeks in between his trial and race day.

Doubt he was fully screwed down to win the race and the run he had in transit was three wide with no cover on a hot speed.

Barrier one in this event will grant him with the cover he needs and the step down in grade looks ideal with Tatum Bull claiming 1.5kgs.

Expecting a big improvement from this horse.

Suggested Bet: Strategist win at $4.2

Kyneton Race 8

#13 Lianne

Happy to give Lianne one more chance to prove she can win.

Her first-up run at Pakenham on September 7 was a fourth place finish behind Gdasnk who had a very easy time of it up front, whereas Lianne was left to do all the chasing from the rear half of the field.

The jump out win at Flemington she registered caught the eye and gives us a little bit of faith that she still knows what it takes to run past horses and stay in front.

Jockey Damien Thornton has ridden her to her two career wins to date and he gets the ride this around.

We can play at her each-way here given the price we are currently getting.

Suggested Bet: Lianne each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.6 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 7, 8, 11, 13
