Wangaratta Tips & Previews, Tuesday September 14th

Wangaratta plays host to Tuesday racing as The Wizard of Odds goes through the best bets and value on the program.

The Wizard of Odds goes through his best bets at Wangaratta.

This nine-race card has given us some nice betting opportunities as we find the value ahead of Tuesday racing.

Wangaratta Race 1

#12 Moon Yanco

Moon Yanco is ready to win after being asked to do way too much on debut.

The three-year-old filly from the Matt Cumani stable was forced to sit four and five wide then asked to sustain a run from the 500-metre mark when finishing second the handy Fortunate Kiss.

That horse has since come out and run well in town at Sandown to frank the form out of the race.

Our selection here now draws a barrier where she can either lead or settle one pair back from the leaders with cover.

The economical run will see her be much stronger late in the race than she was at Warracknabeal and she can easily defeat Titans – who is the current favourite – with the likelihood she will map much better than him.

Suggested Bet: Moon Yanco win at $4.4

Wangaratta Race 3

#12 Tiz Magic

Tiz Magic has had three jump out to get him ready for this 1400-metre debut at Wangaratta.

It was most recent jump out that really caught the eye with the Tavistock-bred three-year-old gelding travelling strongly on the pace and running well behind stable mate Cambourne who is a genuine city class horse.

This Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) galloper was put under very light riding late in the 1190-metre Cranbourne jump out and, despite being beaten four length, actually stuck on quite well.

Damian Lane rode him in the jump out and has decided to take the ride in this race which is a sign of big intent from the stable.

Looks a derby type of horse so would want to be winning here if he is on that path.

Suggested Bet: Tiz Magic win at $4.8

Wangaratta Race 7

#4 Unanimous

Unanimous comes back to racing as a gelding and off the back of two quite jump outs at Cranbourne.

He was asked to do nothing at either of his 800-metre efforts after travelling along with a bubbly attitude and looking ready to explode should his jump out jockey in John Allen had decided to let him go.

The gelding operation looks to have worked and he seemed to conserve his energy very well under a strong hold.

Allen has been booked to ride him first-up and even though he has almost a year between runs he looks to be going well enough to run a big race from the middle barrier.

Suggested Bet: Unanimous win at $4.8

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 5

Wangaratta Race 9

#6 En Aval

En Aval comes into this race sporting the blinkers for the first time which looks like it could spark some serious improvement into this mare.

She raced in a very weak BM-50 at Narrandera last start, but might have just felt the pinch from a tough run on a heavy 10 track the start prior.

She has since been freshened up for a month and gets the services of Teodore Nugent who comes off riding a city winner on Makybe Diva Stakes day on Saturday.

Expecting Nugent to be very positive out of the barriers and give this horse the best possible chance to win this race.

If the blinkers can get this horse to improve a length or two then she is a winning chance in this event.

Suggested Bet: En Aval each-way at $8 the win and $2.6 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 3, 6, 9, 12
