A huge set of semi finals on the men’s side of the draw and a much anticipated women’s final as the the US Open draws to a close at Flushing Meadows this weekend.
Our tennis experts go through the best bets from each game as we forge towards the finals.
Felix Auger-Alliasime vs. Daniil Medvedev
September 11th 5:00am
Two young stars of the tour come face to face when up and coming Canadian star Felix Auger-Alliasime trades blows with Russian gun Daniil Medvedev.
Auger-Alliasime scored a walkover victory against Spanish sensation Carlos Alacaraz and will have the fresh legs heading into this game against Medvedev who needed four sets to get through Botic van de Zandschulp.
The pair have met only once in their careers with Medvedev proving victorious back in 2018 at the ATP Masters in Canada with a three-set 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 win.
But the then 18-year-old Canadian has come on leaps and bounds to put in what is, so far, a career-best performance in his grand slam record.
Medvedev has the runs on the board and is the more experienced of the two which is what will be the difference in some of gruelling rallies we are set for.
It was a surprise to see there be such a gap between the two in the market from a head to head perspective.
The world number two has one of the toughest service games to crack, but Auger-Alliasime is more than capable of serving it up to the 25-year-old Russian.
Suggested Bets: Felix Auger-Alliasime win at $4.99
Novak Djokovic vs. Alexander Zverev
September 11th 9:00am
World number one Novak Djokovic will attempt to make his ninth US Open final when he meets Alexander Zverez at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday morning.
Zverez is going to prove a worthy opponent for the 20-time grand slam champion with the German ace coming into this semi-final having only dropped one set in the tournament to date.
Even though Djokovic has progressed through each of his games with relative ease, there have been signs that is not near his absolutely best and that might just open the door for his hungry opponent.
Zverev was simply brilliant on first serve in his straight set triumph over South African surprise packet Lloyd Harris.
He won 82% of first serve points, but his achilles heel – and where Djokovic can take advantage – is the second serve points.
Djokovic is not the man who you can be gifting opportunity to on the hard court.
If Zverev can clean up the 56% winning rate on his second serve he produced against Harris then it will go a long way to winning this contest.
Suggested Bet: Alexander Zverev head to head at $2.90
Emma Radacanu vs. Leylah Fernandez
September 12th 6:00am
There would not have have a been tipster or tennis pundit in the world that could have picked this to be the final of the women’s US Open in 2021.
But here we are.
The new princess of British tennis Emma Raducanu comes up against the new princess of Canadian tennis Leylah Fernandez.
These two ladies are yet to reach adulthood with 18-year-old Raducanu and 19-year-old Fernandez both progressing through to their first ever grand slam finals.
Raducanu is has not dropped any sets at the tournament thus far and launched herself into the final after a crushing 6-1, 6-4 win over 17th seed Maria Sakkari.
Fernandez, meanwhile, scored a famous upset victory over Aryna Sabalenka which sent Arthur Ashe Stadium into raptures.
What a way for these ladies to first meet each other on the WTA Tour.
So hard to split them, but the Brit has barely put a foot wrong this tournament.
Suggested Bet:
Emma Raducanu head to head at $1.62
Emma Raducanu 2-1 at $2.75
