NRL Round 25, Tips & Previews

Check out the preview and best bets in NRL Round 25.

The NRL charges into the final round of the home and away season with the top eight and top four still to be locked away.

The best bets ahead of a massive weekend have landed and there is always plenty of value to be found.

Canberra vs. Sydney

September 2nd 7:50pm

Canberra knows this is a must win when it faces Sydney on Thursday night.

The Raiders have fate in their own hands this weekend and a win would almost guarantee them a finals place if Cronulla was to lose to Melbourne on Friday.

Ricky Stuart has been under the pump all year, but his men should be up and about for this do or die clash.

If they can carry the momentum they showed in the second half of their 28-16 win over New Zealand last week, the Roosters will struggle to contain them.

Suggested Bets: Canberra Raiders head to head at $2.10

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Canberra head to head
Leg 2: J. Rapana anytime tryscorer
Leg 3: Total points over 41.5
Combined odds = $5.75

Parramatta vs. Penrith

September 3rd 8:05pm

Parramatta will look to cause another monumental upset when it faces Penrith Panthers on Friday night.

The Eels made it two from two this season against the premiership favourite Melbourne Storm last week and reversed the form slide it has been down over the last month.

Penrith, however, poses a completely different challenge with Ivan Cleary getting back a heap of his injured stars to build their surge towards a premiership.

The Panthers defeated the Eels 13-12 back in Round 16 but were without star playmaker Nathan Cleary.

Panthers win this one and do so comfortably.

Suggested Bet: Penrith -24.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Penrith -24.5
Leg 2: B. To’o
Leg 3: Total points over 45.5
Combined odds = $2.63

Brisbane vs. Newcastle

September 4th 3:00pm

The question that has to be asked in this game between Brisbane and Newcastle is how motivated the Knights are to win this game.

Newcastle booked its spot in the finals courtesy of a 15-14 nail-biting victory against Gold Coast last week.

The Broncos have had a knack of causing an upset this year despite sitting second last on the table.

Get the feeling the Knights might just pull back a gear in order to keep themselves fresh for week one of finals.

Suggested Bets: Brisbane Broncos +4.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Brisbane Broncos +4.5
Leg 2: Total points under 49.5
Leg 3: E. Tuala anytime tryscorer
Combined odds = $7.5

North Queensland vs. Manly

September 4th 5:30pm

The dark horse of the premiership race in Manly go head to head against the struggling North Queensland Cowboys.

The Sea Eagles will confirm their spot in the top four with victory over the Cowboys in this game.

Tom Trbojevic, Reuben Garrick and Jason Saab all found the scoresheet last week and are going to prove a massive headache for the Cowboys on Saturday.

This will just be a matter of how much the Sea Eagles win by.

Suggested Bet: Manly -22.5 at $1.90

South Sydney vs. St George Illawarra

September 4th 7:35pm

With the a double chance all sewn up, South Sydney head into its game against St George with its playesr minds at ease knowing a premiership is on horizon.

The Souths crushed their Sydney rivals to the tune of 42 points last week to lock away third spot on the table.

Alex Johnston, Jaxson Paulo and Latrell Mitchell caved up the Roosters defence and look set to do the same here should Craig Bennett opt to select all three.

St George is simply playing for pride at the moment and that probably will not be enough to get within a single figures on this in-form Rabbitohs squad.

Suggested Bet: South Sydney -12.5 at $1.90

Gold Coast vs. New Zealand

September 5th 2:00pm

Gold Coast will know if there is a sliver of hope left for its finals chances when it faces New Zealand on Sunday.

The Titans sit a game outside the top eight and need Cronulla and Canberra to lose in order to still be in the hunt come Sunday afternoon.

There will be relics of the past that haunt this Titans team having missed on the finals by a game in 2021.

Regardless of the situation, the Titans have the talent to put this struggling Warriors to rest.

Suggested Bet: Gold Coast -11.5 at $1.90

Wests Tigers vs. Canterbury

September 5th 4:05pm

Wests Tigers and Canterbury bring their respective seasons to a close when the pair meet at Moreton Daily Stadium on Sunday night.

It has been a brutal season for Canterbury having only won two games and sitting dead last to be handed the wooden spoon.

Wests, meanwhile, will be left to rue a heap of missed opportunities and what may have been as it sits two games outside the eight heading into the last round.

Both teams played each other only a month ago  and it was the Tigesr who prevailed with a 28-16 victory.

A similar result will likely hold sway again here.

Suggested Bet: Wests Tigers -7.5 at $1.90
