Greyhound Racing Tips

The Meadows Greyhounds Tips & Previews, Saturday 28th August

It's off to The Meadows for the tips and preview of Saturday night greyhound racing in Victoria.

Green light on, bunny rolls and we’re off and racing.

The best bets for Saturday night greyhound racing at The Meadows.

The meadows race 1

#6 Perfectly Poised

Perfectly Poised has returned a much better greyhound after his spell and has shown slashing early speed to win his first two races of a new campaign.

The twoy-year-old bitch from the Jacqueline Greenough kennel has launched herself out of the boxes at her first two runs this preparation to score impressive victories.

Her most recent effort was a 30.06 win over the 525 metres at The Meadows in what is the quickest time at this course of any dog in this field.

She is drawn a touch awkwardly in box six, but her early speed should combat anything that attempts to challenge her.

Suggested Bet: Perfectly Poised win at $2

Suggested Exotic: Exacta – 6 & 3

The Meadows Race 3

#2 Lots of Chatter

Lot of Chatter is a deadset gun chaser who clearly had a class edge over this field after his brilliant Bendigo heat win last start.

After starting a $1.60 favourite last week, he smashed his rivals with a five-length victory in a time of 27.93 after leading all the way from box five.

He draws closer to the rail this time and if he can find the lead as early as he did last start then a personal best could be on the cards.

Aston Shine did run a faster time than him last start, but he draws the squeeze box and looks very short at the current price.

Expecting Lots of Chatter to run a very well backed favourite.

Suggested Bet: Lots of Chatter win at $2.5

The Meadows Race 4

#1 Russian Sub

Going against the odds-on favourite Shima Classic and siding with Russian Sub who enjoys racing at The Meadows.

The Harrison Goss-trained chaser was hunted by the smart Xavien Bale last start when attempting to lead all the way over 460 metres at Geelong.

Returning The Meadows should suit him nicely given his solid record at the track which reads two starts and a placing from six starts.

We can back this chaser with confidence on an each-way basis.

Suggested Bet: Russian Sub each-way at $6.5 the win and $1.85 the place

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 4

The Meadows race 7

#7 Bobby the Brute

Bobby The Brute is armed with brute power and can cross easily from his wide box.

His last start effort was in a heat race at Geelong where he surged towards the lead but was just outgunned late in the race to run second.

That effort should see him peaking into this G4 event and if we look back to the last time he went around in a G4 over this course and distance he started a $2.90 favourite.

He was beaten on that occasion, but we will take the market as a factor that night and now we get a much better price this time.

Suggested Bet: Bobby The Brute win at $3.7

The Meadows Race 10

#2 Ivy Isobel

Ivy Isobel looks a massive chance to knock off Black Avenger.

The two-year-old bitch trained by Brett Mackie brings in solid form credentials to this race after acquitting herself well from an unsuitable box last start.

Box two represents a much easier challenge for her here and she is going to be afforded a perfect run in behind the early leaders.

If she gets the clear passage required to utilise her sharp mid-race sprint, then she will win this race.

Suggested Bet: Ivy Isobel win at $4.4
