It is the first Group 1 race of the new racing season with the running of the Winx Stakes at Randwick.

Randwick Race 2
#9 Terwilliker
Terwilliker is beginning to become a bit of a non-winner, but he will get his best chance in this race to break through for that elusive fifth career win.
The seven-year-old gelding trained by Anthony Cummings was a shade unlucky after drawing the inside last start when starting a $5 elect in a BM-78 over 2400 metres.
The theory usually goes that the best 2400-metre is a run prior at 2400 metres.
Terwilliker gets that set up again here as well as the services of gun hoop Tommy Berry who can negotiate a nice passage from barrier three.
Suggested Bet: Terwilliker each-way at $7.5 the win and $2.5 the place
Randwick Race 4
#11 Loveplanet
Loveplanet looks set to peak third-up from a spell and up to the mile.
He only creeps up half-a-kilo from his last start at Randwick over 1500 metres in BM-78, but that will be offset by the big fitness benefit he will derive from the run.
The four-year-old gelding trained by Chris Waller had to cope with nearly a month off the racing scene when rising from 1400 metres to 1500 metres last start without a very solid fitness base.
James McDonald has decided to stick with this ride and it looks the best of the day by a long way.

Randwick Race 5
#15 Bright Rubick
John Ramsey sends his five-year-old mare Bright Rubick to town after taking the Bengalla Cup at Muswellbrook.
She showed her fighting qualities to hold off the fast finish of Dubai Tycoon as a $2.8 favourite.
The start prior she held her own in town over 1400 meters at Randwick to run second beaten a bee’s diaphragm in BM-78 grade.
Rachel King takes the ride from barrier five and she will give this horse a nice run in order to allow her to finish off strongly late in the race.
Suggested Bet: Bright Rubick each-way at $16 the win and $4.8 the place.
Randwick race 8
#1 Kolding
Kolding was smashed late in the betting when resuming from a spell in the Group 2 Missile Stakes over 1200 metres.
Hugh Bowman pushed forward to sit outside the lead and loomed to win by a big margin, but regressed to finish fifth in a field of seven.
It looks as though his conditioning just gave out slightly and he should be ready to peak coming into this race.
He might be as brilliant as his stablemate Verry Elleegant, but he will likely map anywhere 4-6 lenghts ahead of her in the run.
That set-up looks as though it will be a major advantage late in the race, especially if it as a high-pressure 1400-metre race and the favourite has to use up her energy early to keep in an attempt within striking distance.
