Moonee Valley Race 2
Four weeks between runs for Sugartown should have her nice and fresh to sprint sharply in this race.
The four-year-old mare draw in the middle of the track at Caulfield over 1200 metres in BM-84 grade last start and did a good job to finish third.
Trainer Danny O’Brien has applied the blinkers in order to get her concentrating and with the idea to improve to her the extra length she needs to win in this grade.
The big positive is champion jockey Jamie Kah has decided to stay aboard.
Suggested Bet: Sugartown win at $3.3

Moonee Valley Race 4
#6 Nudge Bar
Nudge Bar went like a busted last start after being beaten by over 20 lengths.
The stewards report found the horse to have cardiac arrhythmia prior to being pulled up out of the race won by Mahamedeis at Moonee Valley over 2040 metres.
Peter Gelagotis had given this galloper three weeks to get over the run and if he can run a similar race to his win in Adelaide two starst ago, then he is a massive chance in this.
Craig Newitt is riding well at the moment and should position this horse in a nice spot from barrier seven.
Suggested Bet: Nudge Bar each-way at $10 the win and $3.3 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 4, 6/ 4, 6, 11/ 4, 6, 7, 10, 11
Moonee Valley Race 6
Hilal is a moral.
This horse looks an absolute class above this field given what he achieved in his first preparation.
He has form behind one of the smartest horses in Australia in the form of Anamoe after running second him in the Sires Produce.
His two trials leading into this race should have him forward enough to win this with a leg in the air.
The Michael, John & Wayne Hawkes stable have made a knack of winning this race in recent times using it is a starting point for some of their most talented crop.
Suggested Bet: Hilal win at $2.4
Moonee Valley Race 7
Having a speculative each-way play on Aktau who looks set to improve second-up from a lengthy spell.
He raced at Moonee Valley over the mile last start behind Hi Stranger who has since come out and won at Caulfield.
The Mike Moroney middle distance galloper returned solidly enough to run seven out of eight runners only beaten 3.7 lengths.
It was an encouraging return for a horse who had a missed a fair bit of racing.
He will definitey strip fitter for the run and should improve another 2-4 lengths, which can see him run a cheeky race here at each-way odds.
Suggested Bet: Aktau each-way at $21 the win and $5 the place.
