The Wizard of Odds goes through his best tips and previews from the Pakenham synthetic meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Pakenham Race 2
#10 He's The Ultimate
Peter Moody has this race at his mercy with He’s The Ultimate.
There is a bit to like about this three-year-old colt after a very nice jumpout at Pakenham on August 5 over 800 metres.
He settled in behind the majority of the six-horse field that partook in the jumpout and he looks as though he would have shot away had his jockey released the reigns at any point.
Went through the finish under a stranglehold and should have plenty to offer upon resuming from his spell.
Looks to have comeback a more professional and relaxed racehorse.
Suggested Bet: He’s The Ultimate win at $2.30
Pakenham race 5
#6 Shilo Lass
New stable, new horse.
Shilo Lass has had a sea-change and been acquired by Gavin Bedggood following her stint with the Mike Moroney stable.
The five-year-old mare has had a host of gear changes to spark her up for her first run on the synthetic surface.
Her Cranbourne synthetic surface jumpout over 760 metres was quite impressive.
She showed very good speed to lead and win comfortably.
The 1000 metres at BM-58 looks a perfect starting point for her under a new regime and she gets the services of Josh Richards to sail her past the winning post.
Suggested Bet: Shilo Lass each-way at $6 the win and $2 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 1, 2, 6
Pakenham Race 6
#1 Full of Theories
Full of Theories is a genuine synthetic tracker who usually puts in his all.
He retains the zest and verve for racing despite being an old boy at the rip old age of eight years old.
The Ebony Tucker-trained gelding ran well on a soft track at Sale in BM-64 grade over 1400 metres when starting a $31 elect in the market.
He was outclassed in that race and now gets back to a level where he can be very competitive.
Should enjoy a nice run from barrier two and will go close to winning if Matthew Cartwright can manufacture the right run.
Suggested Bet: Full of Theories each-way at $6 the win and $2.25 the place.
Pakenham race 8
#11 Wyld Savanna
Wyld Savanna steps back to provincial grade after acquitting herself well in town last start despite being beaten.
She dashed to the front in BM-64 grade over 1300 metres and knocked up late in the race to run sixth out of the 13 runners.
The drop back to 1200 metres might just suit her here and she looks likely to bound to the front here.
If the speed does get a bit too hot, she can take a sit in behind from a soft barrier.
She has had only the one start at this track, but won that race very well to show she can handle the going of the synthetic track.
Suggested Bet: Wyld Savanna each-way at $9 the win and $3 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 2, 3, 5, 8, 11
