We head towards the finals as Round 22 kicks off on Thursday night.

The best best for the rest of the round are in.

Melbourne vs. Canberra

August 12th 7:50pm

Melbourne continues its charge towards back-to-back premierships when it faces Canberra on Thursday night.

The Storm surged away late from Manly last week to win 28-18 and extend its incredible winning streak to 17 matches in a row.

Canberra also made it a winning weekend in Round 21 with a 20-12 victory over St George in a cagey affair.

Melbourne handed the Raiders a 34-10 defeat and expect a similar result to occur here.

Suggested Bets:  Melbourne -24.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Melbourne -24.5
Leg 2: J. Addo-Carr any time try
Leg 3: Total points scored over 49.5
Combined odds = $2.64

St George Illawarra vs. Penrith

August 13th 6:00pm

Penrith meets St George Illawarra on Friday night in a bid to keep in touch with league Melbourne Storm.

The Panthers gritted their teeth and held on for a dogged 20-12 victory against the injury ravaged Sydney Roosters who were without Josh Morris.

St George, meanwhile, fell short against against Canberra to leave its finals chances on a knife’s edge.

The Dragons can push the Panthers, as shown in Round last year, but expect Ivan Cleary to have his troops zoned in and engaged for a big clash.

Suggested Bet: Penrith -18.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Penrith -18.5
Leg 2: Total points scored under 49.5
Combined odds = $4.2

Brisbane vs. Sydney

August 13th 7:55pm

Brisbane are on the hunt to restore pride in its 2021 campaign when it hosts the brave Sydney Roosters on Friday night.

The Roosters have been battered from pillar to post with injuries all year, while the Broncos have simply not good enough and aded another loss to their 2021 campaign this time against Newcastle.

Sydney battled bravely against Penrith, but ultimately failed in its quest for victory going down by a converted try.

The Broncos belted the Roosters earlier this year in one of the upset results of the season when starting a $9.5 elect.

Since then, the Roosters have welcomed back a handful of injured players who will bolster them against Brisbane this time around.

Suggested Bets: Sydney -14.5 at $1.89

South Sydney vs. Gold Coast

August 14th 3:00pm

South Sydney looks to make it 10 wins in a row when it faces Gold Coast come Saturday afternoon.

The Titans have been on a winning streak themselves with three consecutive victories seeing them sit seventh on the table and on the verge of a finals berth.

It was a high-scoring contest when these two met in Round 7 but the Rabbitohs scoring a 40-30 victory as veteran Benji Marshall led the way with two tries.

Gold Coast has the talent to win, but consistency has been the big issue for it this season.

Souths prevail in this game but the line does like a bit over the top.

Suggested Bet: Gold Coast +17.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Gold Coast +17.5
Leg 2: C. Thompson anytime try
Conbined odds = $3.6

North Queensland vs. Wests Tigers

August 14th 5:30pm

It’s effectively season over for both North Queensland and Wests Tigers, but that will not stop either side wanting victory in this match.

The Cowboys were battered by Gold Coast in Round 21 and face the winning form of Wests who was able to get the job done against wooden spooner Canterbury.

This looks a much easier test for the Cowboys after being beaten up by 22 points last week and they can restore some of the lost pride.

Suggested Bet: North Queensland head to head at $2.35

Manly vs. Parramatta

August 14th 7:35pm

Manly continues its surge towards finals when it faces an out of form Parramatta on Saturday night.

The Eels have lost three on the bounce to sit precariously close to losing their spot in the top four, while Manly almost pinched victory off Melbourne last week.

Des Walter’s men have won seven of their last ten games and a win here will only justify their top four credentials.

The likes of Jason Saab, Reuben Garrick and Tom Trbojevic will getting at this shaky Eels defence.

Suggested Bet: Manly -15.5 at $1.90

New Zealand vs. Canterbury

August 15th 1:50pm

New Zealand attempt to keep its slim, but ever fading finals hopes alive when it faces Canterbury on Sunday afternoon at Moreton Daily Stadium.

The Warriors pinched victory against Cronulla last week to keep the flame flickering on its season, while Canterbury was resigned to its 18th defeat of the season.

Canterbury did push the Warriors back in Round 15 this season, but it was the Warriors who came away with a 20-14 victory thanks to the heroics of Jack Murchie.

Expecting a similar result in this game.

Suggested Bet: New Zealand -8.5 at $1.90
