Round 21 AFL Game of the Week Tips & Previews, West Coast vs. Melbourne

The best bets are in for the Monday night clash between West Coast and Melbourne.

Best bets and value for head to head, first goal scorer and total points scored markets are ready to go.

HEad to HEAD

August 9th 8:10pm

West Coast seek to stave off the chasers of its final eight spot against Melbourne who are fresh off a thumping win over Gold Coast.

The Eagles stunk it up in Melbourne yet again after suffering a 45-point loss to Collingwood, while the Demons bounced back after their loss against Western Bulldogs with a 98-point flogging of the Suns.

Ben Brown finally hit some solid goal-kicking form for his new club with four majors alongside young gun Luke Jackson who managed four goals of his own.

West Coast, however, had its wings clipped by a hungry Collingwood team and must now recoup for this tough task.

Veterans Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling are going to have a tough time of it against a sturdy Melbourne backline consisting of gun talls Steven May and Jake Lever.

West Coast will improve its output on last week given it plays at home, but the Demons have proven a reliable team this year.

 Prediction: Melbourne by 16 points

Suggested Bet: Melbourne -14.5 at $1.90

FIRST GOAL SCORER

Jamie Cripps/Ben Brown

Jamie Cripps played a lone hand up forward against Collingwood last week with two goals.

His tall teammates in Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy will be clamped down by Steven May and Jake Lever.

It should leave the door open for Cripps to have an early impact.

Ben Brown is the other goal-scorer we are selecting.

He finally showed what he is capable of last week with a four-goal haul and looks set to continue his form

Suggested Bet:
Jamie Cripps first goal at $15
Ben Brown first goal at $10

total points scored

under 142.5

Looks like we are set for a wet and windy night in Perth.

If that is the case, the unders looks the way to go in this game despite both teams having elite goal-scoring ability inside forward 50.

To add to that, Melbourne boasts one of the best defensive units in the league.

This contest last year may have tallied up 129 points in shortened quarters but that was played on a dry, crisp deck.

Suggested Bet: Total points under 142.5 points at $1.90
