Sandown Park Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 5th August

Tips and previews from the big Thursday night card at Sandown Park.

Greyhound racing from Sandown Park on a cool, crisp Thursday night.

A heap of winners to be found as our team goes through the best bets on the card.

Sandown Park Race 1

#1 Zac's Entity

As far as a debut run is concerned, you would be far-fetched to find a better debut effort than that of of Zac’s Entity.

The two-year-old dog from the Kelvyn Greenough kennels scored a breathtaking 29.25 victory at Sandown Park over 515 metres.

He stamped himself as Australia’s next biggest greyhounds prospect after pinging the lids and scorching up the track.

It is hard to see him being beaten in not only this race, but in higher grade races within the next few months.

We have unearthed a beauty here and he will be winning this race on to bigger and better things.

He might not be the greatest value to win for most of the average punters but taking him an exacta with Western Blazer and Don’t Tell Bluey might be the way to go here.

Suggested Bet: Zac’s Entity at $1.35

Suggested Exotic: Exacta – 1/ 4, 8

Sandown park race 3

#8 hilltop jack

Hilltop Jack runs with the pink rug and should have the early pace to cross and lead this field with ease.

He is a proven performer from box eight with four start registering a win and two minor placings.

He has competed against two of the most talented dogs in Victoria at this two most recent starts having run respectfully behind Qwara Bale and Aston Rupee.

The David Geall-trained chaser clearly has a liking to the Sandown Park 515 metres having won three from his six attempts and placing twice.

Best of the night.

Suggested Bet: Hilltop Jack win at $3.10

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta -2, 3, 8

Sandown park race 6

#4 Riccarton Rick

Riccarton Rick loves racing at Sandown Park with his 23 starts at the venue tallying up for seven wins and six minor placings.

He will need a bit of luck from box four given there is a bit of pace drawn outside which could make things awkward early in the race.

If he can get a clear run into the race he will launching his mid-race and finishing burst on this field to great effect.

He is armed with a deadly late sprint and his run behind Rebel Riot last start is good enough to winning a race against this type of field.

Suggested Bet: Riccarton Rick win at $3.8

Sandown Park Race 7

#2 Whatever I say

Surprised to not see Whatever I Say as the current favourite in this race.

He has the distinct advantage over the current favourite Kuro Kismet of having won in this middle distance range, where as the favourite hits this trip for the first time.

Whatever I Say will be giving this field a bit of a start, but his powerful finish is what will set him apart from the rest.

Kuro Kismet will bound to the lead, but fully expecting Whatever I Say to chase him down.

Suggested Bet: Whatever I Say win at $3.2

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 4

Sandown Park race 12

#2 Luxury Rocks

Putting the knock on the two favourites in this race who have had a bit a gap between runs.

Siding with Luxury Rocks who races on the four-day back-up here after narrow defeat at this track on Sunday.

She always raced near the lead last start and was run down by a Destructive Riot.

That 29.90 run looks competitive in this race and if she can find the top with ease then she can definitely eclipse that time and be the winner in this race.

She will only need to cross the fancied Madam Maximus drawn inside of her given the other favoured runner in the market in the form of Limiting is a tardy beginner.

Suggested Bet: Luxury Rocks each-way at $8 the win and
