Moe Tips & Previews, Wednesday 4th August

The Wizard of Odds goes through the best tips and preview from the transferred Cranbourne meeting to be run at Moe.

The Wizard of Odds had to be on the ball for the midweek Wednesday meeting at Moe after the card was transferred from Cranbourne.

A spanner may have been thrown into the works but it has not stopped him from finding the best bets in the outer East of Victoria.

Moe Race 2

#13 Bewitchingly

Bewitchingly should have finished much closer than she did on debut after being held up for a run just as she was about to explode with her sprint.

Her unlucky effort came at Geelong in a 2YO maiden race over 1147 metres after settling midfield in between horses.

She did not look to be all that comfortable during the run but hopefully the extra 50 metres in this race can see her get clean air earlier than she did at Geelong.

Craig Williams sticks with the horse which is always a positive lead.

Suggested Bet: Bewitchingly win at $2.4

Moe Race 3

#13 Star Smash

Star Smash has not been unable to show his best in his early racing career.

Both his runs have come at the tight-turning Cranbourne track where he got too far back to make a significant impact on debut and then copped a heavy 10 track when being crammed away in between runners.

Two massive changes here with the blinkers going on for the first time and Damian Lane also hopping aboard this galloper for the first time.

Barrier four might even see Lane opt to take the lead here and hoping his soft, balanced riding style can get this horse to settle underneath and save the energy for late in the race.

Suggested Bet: Star Smash each-way at $17 the win and $3.8 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 6, 12, 13

Moe Race 4

#6 Jungle Jane

Jungle Jane looks ready to peak into this preparation at her third-up run.

The blinkers come off to settle her down so she can conserve her energy for late in the race.

Rises to 2100 metres for the first time in her campaign and she can handle wet ground which is what we will get at Moe.

The wide barrier may actually suit her given the track can usually advantage those horses who race up the middle and then towards the outside fence in the straight.

We can back her each-way in what is currently an eight-horse field.

Suggested Bet: Jungle Jane $7.5 the win and $2.35 the place

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 4, 5, 6, 7

Moe Race 8

#7 Adonis Kick

Adonis Kick has returned with two very solid runs this campaign and heads off to his home track at Moe to try and score career victory number two.

Last start he made the progression to city grade at Flemington and acquitted himself very well despite only running ninth of 13 runners.

He chased very solidly behind Seiners Express who has since come out and run well at Moonee Valley behind two very smart horses I’m Thunderstruck and Tuvalu.

This race, on paper, looks much easier than what he faced at Flemington and expect to see Craig Newitt be very positive with him as soon as the barriers open.

Suggested Bet: Adonis Kick $5 the win and $2 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Boxed First Four – 2, 7, 10, 12
