Rosehill Tips & Previews, Saturday 24th July

The Wizard of Odds has gone through the card at Rosehill to find the best bets ahead Saturday metro racing in Sydney.

We head to Rosehill for a big card this Saturday.

The Wizard of Odds has gone through each of the 10 races and has found the best bets across the program.

Rosehill race 2

#11 Zoo Station

Zoo Station is in the form of her career at the moment.

This four-year-old mare from the Gayna Williams stable followed up her impressive first-up win with a brave run at Randwick last start.

She got a mile back from a wide gate and stormed home to finish sixth and only be beaten by just over three lengths.

She now returns to the scene of her win when resuming and draws the perfect barrier to afford her every chance in the run.

The rise to 1500 metres looks perfect as well.

Suggested Bet: Zoo Station win at $3.90

Rosehill Race 5

#10 sound of cannons

Sound of Cannons is ready to run a peak race at Saturday metropolitan grade.

He has moseyed his way around BM-72 and BM-78 grade at this last three runs all of which have been over 2400 metres.

Given the likelihood of a damp track and a solid lead speed, he has the base of fitness to run another strong race of the 2400-metre distance range.

While he is not as brilliant as the top weight, he will likely have a better with which to run a stronger race.

Tommy Berry takes the ride and he will give this horse the gun run from barrier one.

Suggested Bet: Sound of Cannons each-way at $8.5 the win and $2.50 the place

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 10

Randwick Race 7

#8 True Detective

We might need to get a detective to found out when True Detective is going to get his next win but the magnifying glass is firmly on him in this race.

He has been racing very well in metropolitan grade but has just been unable to find the winners list.

Think he gets a fantastic chance to break through today coming back to his home track where he has had most of his success.

Expecting Kerrin McEvoy to push forward from the middle barrier in order to find an on-pace position with cover.

Suggested Bet: True Detective win at $5

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 3, 4, 8

Randwick race 8

#12 Arctic Thunder

Arctic Thunder looks to ready to rumble after a spin around the Canterbury track last start when returning to racing off a little freshen up.

The three-year-old filly trained by Gary Portelli never really looked comfortable during her 1250-metre effort last Wednesday but she gets a more favourable situation here.

Tommy Berry nabs the ride off Ellen Hennessey which is a sign of intent from the stable.

The filly also rises in distance to 1500 metres which should see her settle in a more forward position than she was last start.

She will only have to carry 54kgs and draws a perfect barrier.

Making her the best of the day.

Suggested bet: Arctic Thunder win at $4.2

Randwick race 9

#6 smart image

Smart Image seems to be building into his preparation nicely after an improved run at his most recent start.

He stormed home to run second behind Shadow Crush after settling near last over 1200 metres at Rosehill in BM-78 grade back on June 5.

Since then, he has had a 1030-metre trial at Rosehill to keep his residual fitness up to scratch.

Barrier five should see him settle much closer in the run than last start.

Tough to see him missing a place if he finds a midfield position with cover which is likely to occur.

Suggested bet: Smart Image each-way at $6 the win and $2.25 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 6, 8/ 6, 8, 9/ 1, 4, 6, 8, 9
