Round 19 commences with Port Adelaide and Collingwood from Friday night at Marvel Stadium.
We look ahead to the best of the rest this weekend.
Port Adelaide vs. Collingwood
July 23rd 7:10pm
Port Adelaide and Collingwood meet at Marvel Stadium after a change in venue due to health and safety protocols.
Adelaide Oval was deemed the original venue but now it seems like we have an advantage in favour of the Magpies who are looking to bounce back after a 29-point to Carlton.
Port, meanwhile, is playing to remain a game inside the top four with a loss meaning Sydney and Brisbane will be hot on its heels.
Prediction: Port Adelaide by 17 points
Suggested Bet: Collingwood +21.5 at $1.91
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Port Adelaide head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: Collingwood +20.5
Leg 3: Total points scored over 155.5
Combined odds = $6.75
Carlton vs. North Melbourne
July 24th 1:45pm
Carlton will attempt to keep its slim chance of finals alive when it meets North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium come Saturday afternoon.
The Blues produced a late blitz against arch-rival Collingwood last week to come away with a 29-point win as Harry McKay booted four goals in the last quarter.
North Melbourne almost pinched its fourth win of the year but fell short against Essendon after putting up a competitive four-quarter effort.
Prediction: Carlton by 16 points
Suggested Bet: Carlton -13.5 at $1.89
Brisbane vs. Gold Coast
July 24th 3:10pm
The Q Clash lights up The Gabba on Saturday afternoon when the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns go head to head.
Brisbane continued to struggle with the absence of Eric Hipwood and dropped out the top four after going down to Richmond last week.
The Suns will sense an opportunity to pounce as well with Lachie Neale certain to miss the game with a shoulder injury sustained at training.
Gold Coast might have lost against Western Bulldogs last week but showed a lot of promise.
Prediction: Brisbane Lions by 1 point
Suggested Bet: Gold Coast +27.5 at $1.91
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Brisbane Lions head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: C. Cameron 2+ goals
Leg 3: J. Lyons 25+ diposals
Leg 4: Total points scored over 159.5
Combined odds = $4.10
West coast vs. st kilda
July 24th 4:35pm
The West Coast Eagles welcome St Kilda to Optus Stadium in a bid to right the wrongs of what has been an incredibly inconsistent year.
The Eagles gained some pride back after a 42-point win over Adelaide last week, while the Saints inaccurate kicking cost them dearly against Port Adelaide.
A win for the Saints will put on the verge of the top eight but the Eagles should surely take advantage with the omission of Rohan Marshall.
Prediction: West Coast Eagles by 20 points
Suggested Bets: West Coast Eagles -14.5 at $1.89
Adelaide vs. Hawthorn
July 24th 6:10pm
Adelaide gives up its home game at Adelaide Oval to trek over to Marvel Stadium for its clash against Hawthorn.
The Crows have dropped well off the pace since a fast start to the season and sit third last and half-a-game away from the Hawks following a 42-point to West Coast.
Hawthorn has the luxury of not having to travel and will be brewing confidence after playing out a 79-79 draw against Melbourne.
Alastair Clarkson’s men should be able to leap frog the Crows.
Prediction: Hawthorn by 25 points
Suggested Bets: Hawthorn -9.5 at $1.90
Sydney vs. Fremantle
July 25th 12:30pm
It is a trip up north for both Sydney and Fremantle when they clash at Metricon Stadium early Sunday afternoon.
The Swans continued their fine season after storming away in the second half against GWS last week to score bragging rights in the battle of the bridge.
Fremantle, however, was left pondering after being smashed by Geelong at in Perth by 69 points.
This is a tough match to assess given the poor form the Swans have showed at Metricon Stadium in recent times.
The red and white loyal sons should get the win but the Dockers best can trouble Sydney.
Prediction: Sydney by 10 points
Suggested Bets: Fremantle +22.5 at $1.90
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Sydney head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: Fremantle +22.5
Leg 3: Total point scored under 157.5
Combined odds = $5.5
Richmond vs. Geelong
July 25th 1:45pm
The 2020 grand finalists prepare to trade blows at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
Richmond revived its season with a stirring 20-point win Jack Riewoldt’s 300th game last week as the Tigers veteran forward put on a vintage display bagging six goals.
Geelong had a big win too, as it went to smash a hapless Fremantle by 69 points at Optus Stadium.
The Cats boast a 63-point win over the Tigers dating to Round 8 this season and it’s hard to see the Tiger somehow overcoming that gulf.
Prediction: Geelong by 34 points
Suggested Bets: Geelong -16.5 at $1.90
Essendon vs. GWS
July 25th
Essendon look to remain in the top eight for another week when it faces GWS on Sunday.
The Bombers took to Metricon Stadium for a hard fought win over North Melbourne and in doing so locked itself away in eighth spot, while GWS suffered a defeat at the hands Sydney.
Happy to forgive the Giants given they had a handful of late omissions due to COVID protocols.
Toby Greene will be a handy inclusion into a Giants forward which looked bereft of options in the loss to Sydney.
A win for GWS will see them leap over Essendon on the table but the line looks the safe way to play.
Prediction: Essendon by 2 points.
Suggested Bets: GWS line at $1.90
