St George and Gold Coast feature as our NRL Week 19 Game of the Round.
The best bets for head to head, first tryscorer and total points markets for Sunday’s game are in.
head to head
July 25th 1:50pm
St George look to rectify a 14-point loss against Manly last week when it faces the inconsistent Gold Coast Titans on Sunday afternoon at CBUS Super Stadium.
In what is essentially a home game for the Titans despite being the away team, it is a must win for the Blue, Gold and White army.
The Dragons can afford a small loss in this game given they are two points clear from Cronulla in eighth and have a healthier point scored and against differential than all teams chasing them down.
Gold Coast’s form coming into this game in a 26-8 loss against top four bound Parramatta with David Fifita and Brian Kelly putting some pride back into the loss after trailing 26-0.
St George, meanwhile, was unable to sustain a competitive first half against Manly despite the efforts of Jackson Bird and would eventually go down 32-18.
Historically speaking, the Dragons have had the wood over the Titans having won five of the last six against.
But the Titans won the most recent outing with a 14-10 win late last season.
Gold Coast has improved talent wise since then but the Dragons look the value at the line.
Suggested Bet: St George Illawarra +5.5 at $1.90
first try scorer
Tyrell Sloan/David Fifita
Tyrell Sloan and David Fifita are in the gun for first try scorer this weekend.
Fifita is the leading tryscorer for the Titans and the ‘go-to’ man on a regular basis when in desperate need this season.
He will be the one that Dragons need to keep in check early.
Sloan, meanwhile, has stepped in for Matthew Dufty and has done a fine job in his two games thus far.
The new starting fullback for the Dragons managed the first try of the game against Manly last week and can do the same here.
Suggested Bets:
Tyrell Sloan first tryscorer
David Fifita first tryscorer
total points scored
Over 50.5
The last three games between these teams has gone no where near the 50.5 points we see set in the market.
24 points, 28 points and 40 points have been the combined scores for both teams in their three head to head fixtures since 2019.
However, Gold Coast is arguably a more talented team this year than it has been in previous years with a particular focus on offence.
St George showed its scoring ability against a genuine finals team in Manly last week and with Sloan looking to have a spring in his step at fullback for the Dragons, we could see a high-scoring contest.
Suggested Bet: Total points scored over 50.5 at $1.90
