Greyhound Racing Tips

Sandown Park Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 8th July

Tips and previews from the big Thursday night card at Sandown Park.

Greyhound racing from Sandown Park on a cool, crisp Thursday night.

A heap of winners to be found as our team goes through the best bets from the 12-race program.

Sandown park race 1

#4 Weblec Flare

Weblec Flare finally put it all together last start after a scorching eight-length win at Sandown Park over the 515-metre circuit.

He pinged the lids like a smart greyhound at only his third career start and careered away to record a 29.69 win.

Jeffrey Britton has taught this dog to jump cleanly and option to rise in distance sharply last start paid dividends.

The one-year-old dog will only improve with more racing and he now had a great base of fitness to hold form.

Suggested Bet: Weblec Flare win at $2.5

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 4

Sandown park race 4

#1 gintoki bale

Gintoki Bale draws a much more suitable lid this time in compared to last start.

He drew box six at this track and distance in a Grade 5 rated race and did not have much luck when being beaten eight lengths by Mr Speaker.

Going back three starts ago, he recorded an impressive 30.37 victory at The Meadows over 525 metres which showed his adept nature at really wanting to chase the bunny.

With some even luck from the cherry rug, he should find himself right on the pace and hard to hold out.

If he gets a tail to chase into the mid-race, he will explode late.

Suggested Bet: Gintoki Bale each-way at $5.5 the win and $1.95 the place

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 3/ 1, 3/ Field

Sandown park race 5

#6 Ferdinand Boy

We’ll be out holding our collectives breathes late in this race when Ferdinand Boy explodes from the boxes and looks to hold on for dear life.

He races on the three-day back up after a blistering 21.31 win over 385 metres at Sandown and now he races for the first time in his career at a distance in excess of 460 metres.

With 41 starts under his belt he should have a big enough tank to find still find the line strongly over 515 metres.

The only query is that he might be paddling late, but hoping the margin he gains at the start of the race is big enough to hold off the late surge of his rivals.

Suggested Bet: Ferdinand Boy win at $4.4

Suggested Exotic: Exacta – 7 & 6

Sandown Park Race 6

#8 Jarick Bale

Taking a set against the favourite Christo Bale and siding with Jarick Bale who looks set to venture on with his winning ways.

Christo Bale has not drawn the most ideal boxes of late but he has not been jumping as cleanly as Jarick Bale has.

Box eight is ideal for our selection given his ability to wind up and explode like a slingshot when the lids rise.

He has three wins and a minor placing from box eight which highlights the pink rug will be of little concern.

The way he put his challengers away last start with a 33.81 win at this track over 595 metres was a sight to behold.

Suggested Bet: Jarick Bale win at $3.80

Sandown Park race 7

#3 I'm Easy Boys

I’m Easy Boys is a massive threat to the favourite in this race.

While conceding that we have a new star staying prospect in the form of Mepunga Ruby in the midst, it is probably her toughest race to date and her odds are very short.

I’m Easy Boys defeated a handful of these runners in the field and started a shorter price when doing so which justifies his form.

He is racing with great energy and he looks the early leader in this race.

The Ray Henness-trained stayer should be able to build an early margin in the race and use that to full effect.

Suggested Bet: I’m Easy Boys win at $3.7
