The chase for the Larry O’Brien Trophy hits fever pitch when Milwaukee head to ‘Hotlanta’ to take on the Atlanta Hawks in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday morning.
The Hawks sprung the first surprise of the series with a 116-113 upset to draw first blood against a jaded Bucks.
But the Championship favourite levelled up with a 125-91 home romp in Game 2.
Game three then saw the Bucks take a 2-1 series lead with a 113-102 road win before the Hawks evened the ledger again 110-88 rout in Game 4. On Thursday night, Milwaukee earned a 123-112 victory to take a 3-2 series lead.
Milwaukee moved within one victory of their first trip to the NBA Finals since the 1973-74 season as they managed to find a way to take down the Hawks without Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Bucks now look to deliver a message in Game 6 and punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. In Game 5, the Bucks shot 50.5% from the field, including nine of 29 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 47-40.
Most notably though was of big man Brook Lopez who led the way for Milwaukee with 33 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in the victory.
The win showed just how well the Bucks are capable of handling life without ‘The Greek Freak.’
