There is a reason they call him “The Wizard of Odds.”
Ballet Master at $31 last week, but the man with all the wisdom cannot rest on his laurels.
The bets bets for Flemington Finals Day have landed.
Flemington Race 2
#10 Seiners Express
Seiners Express began a well-punted $4 favourite at Sandown last start but what unfolded was a disaster.
He suffered cardiac arrhythmia during the run and pulled up to finish last some 30 lengths away from the eventual winner Sarodec.
Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace have given him three weeks to get over that issue and with some luck from the wide barrier he will be in the finish here.
Putting a line through his last run and backing him based on prior form as well as respecting the market.
Suggested Bet: Seiners Express each-way at $9 the win and $3 the place.
flemington race 3
#4 Not usual glorious
Taking a set against the Melbourne staying form and going with the South Australian visitor Not Usual Glorious.
He has put together a picket fence of victories over in Adelaide and comes into this race with conditions to suit given the forecast rain around Melbourne.
From a speed map perspective, there does not look to be too much action early in this race so the lead is up for grabs should Craig Newitt wish to bound to the front.
He gets in on the minimum with 54kgs and he handles the sting out of the ground with four wins and a minor placing on heavy tracks.
Suggested Bet: Not Usual Glorious win at $3.8
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 4/ 1, 5,/ 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
Flemington Race 6
#3 Odeon
You probably rolled your eyes when you saw Odeon pop up in the form guide and on the BetDeluxe tips page.
He is becoming a bit of a non-winner but he gets a beautiful set-up to turn the tables on Dice Roll.
Jamie Kah has decided to stick him and the big factor here is the weight swing in his advantage compared to Dice Roll.
He meets the favourite better at the weights this time around and will be enjoy a far more more cushy run on the speed from barrier two.
Tough to see him missing a place.
Suggested Bet: Odeon each-way at $6 the win and $1.90 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 3
flemington Race 7
#4 Unique Artist
We got the chocolates with her at a big price last start and we can butter up again in this race.
The market completely disrespected her impressive Pakenham synthetic win over 1600 metres after being sent out a $26 shot at Flemington a fortnight ago over 2000 metres.
She made an absolute mess of them after darting up the inside and bolting in to win by three lenghts.
That win was on a soft seven rated track and proved her versatility on dry and soft ground.
The blinkers have turned her into a new horse and she is on an upward spiral.
Suggested bet: Unique Artist win at $4.2
Flemington Race 9
#6 Barbie's Fox
Barbie’s Fox was the eye-catching run at Caulfield back on June 12.
After settling near last, she whittled home up the middle of the Caulfield straight to finish third in what was an enormous run considering the factors against her.
She draws wide again but she gets the services of Jamie Kah.
Given how well Kah gets her mounts to jump from the barriers, expect this four-year-old mare to settle midfield with some cover.
She is a two-time winner on rain effected tracks and that should hold up well in this race.
Suggested bet: Barbie’s Fox each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.
