Melbourne United @ Perth Wildcats
June 18th 8:30pm
We are set for arguably one of the most intriguing and competitive NBL Finals Series in recent history when the two best teams of the NBL face off in Game 1.
Melbourne United makes the trek across the Nullabor to do battle against Perth at Perth Arena and will fancy itself to gain the box seat heading back home to John Cain Arena.
Without Bryce Cotton, Perth managed to overcome a game Illawarra Hawks squad despite dropping the first match of the semi-finals series at home.
The record-breaking Wildcats finished the series with a flurry to record a double set of 79-71 victories and in doing so book their third grand final in a row.
United, though, proved to be the best team throughout the 2021 regular season as it cleared out atop of the table with a three-game buffer ahead of the Wildcats.
A triple set of ‘Throwdowns’ ensued in its semi-final series against cross-town rival South East Melbourne Phoenix, but United, as it has done so all season, proved the superior team in the best of three.
Jock Landale was clearly the best on court in game three against SEM Phoenix with a 27-point, eight-rebound and three-assist display guiding his team to an 84-74 grand-final clinching triumph.
The Wildcats will look to score heavily through three-point extraordinaire Todd Blanchfield who nailed a game-high 24 points in the eight-point win over the Hawks in game three of their semi-finals series.
However, United has proven it can bring its best form to Perth and put the clamps on Blanchfield; a 78-64 win, while holding Blanchfield to only 15 points on June 4th proved that.
The Black Army can get this series off with a win and put itself in the plum position for ultimate glory.
Suggested Bets:
